  1. This a probelm I have with this type of judging. A score is a score. If your earned an 18.5 or a 12.3 thats your score. How in the world can you say "well it's a nice show, I could give you a 18.9 but there's still 7 other corps and 3 have been scoring pretty good". Judge the show, give it a score and move on. Craig
  2. I was more of a Social Studies kinda guy in High School but to my way of thinking isn't that what makes a straight line so hard. Craig
  3. I was watching the Video (yes Video, I got my first DVD machine for x-mas) and I noticed something about the drills of different Corps. There's not alot of formations. I'm not daying any but not alot. I know, I know it's the "new" thing but I remember Madison rotating the Flor-de-les from one end of the field to the other. To me that was a drill. Now theres alot of follow the leader and stuff. I'm not saying it's not hard. Imarched it so I know how hard it can be but, there's not alot of pictures. I believe it was the Cadets drill that made me see this because they hit the "impact" points for like seconds and moved on. It's like let's run around for 9 minutes and make sguiley (sic) lines. And since I'm on a roll lets talk about the color guard. 50% dance 30% equiptment work and 20% running from one spot to the next. Some guards (and this was on TV so it may be different in person) where just hard to see. Dancing on the back line doesn't do much for the visiual presentation if people can't see it. Just my thoughts sitting here late at night. Craig
  4. Does anyone know when it's getting back online. Craig
  5. I was reading the Dead Corps postings and someone mentioned the Cmcc Warriors. I was wondering what happened to them. And is it true the Kingsmen have had a bingo for years but the old director was taking the money. (not trying to start something just curious) Craig S. Moyer
  6. I miss the St Croix Rivermen, Simplex Minutemen, Oakland Crusaders, Oasage Percussinaries, Black Watch (both) NorthStar and the Crossmen....Oh yeah I mean the real West Chester Crossmen who used to practice at Boeing Beach. Craig S. Moyer
  7. Thanks for the review. I love d2/d3 better then d1. Having only seen Open class/D1 corps in Tv I was blown away the first time I saw a D2/3 Corps at Allentown in 85. They seem to have more...for lack of a better word fun with thier shows as well as the intensity of the open class corps. I still think DCI would be better off showcasing more of the smaller hometown corps then the bigger corps. Craig S. Moyer
  8. When I marched Crossman 84 I was pulled out of practive in Huntington W. Va. I have alweays looked older (could get served in liquor stores as a freshman in HS). My moms had to send a birth certificate and ID so I could march. During the season I did get several dirty looks from officials but nothing ever happened.
  9. What you left out was that you rear ended the horse and thereby sending what comes out of the read end into the back of the car. I remember seeing the car. I was amazed no one was seriously hurt. Craig
