  1. Well, the entire concept for the show is basically James Logan's 2002(3?) World Guard show, so I'd say there might be some apt comparisons. Ya know, come to think of it, for all that early season talk about the Cadets and innovation, or rather a lack of it . . . I haven't seen ANYTHING so far on this topic . . . and this is a much more blatant "rip off", if you will, than anything the Cadets are doing, at least as I understand it . . .
  2. Unbe-freakin-leavable!!!! Check out that package between Phantom and Madison, .25!!!!! SCV with a jump too, closing on BAC. Wow. If I didn't know better, I'd say this is enginered publicity stunt type action!!!! This season rocks!
  3. Dude, he is just a n00b, not !33t, you can't expect too much. <keke>
  4. Do you realize that "DCI" is: The Cavaliers, The Cadets, Blue Devils, Phantom Regiment, Madison Scouts, Bluecoats, Carolina Crown, Boston Crusaders, Blue Knights, Santa Clara Vanguard, Spirit of JSU, Glassmen, Crossmen, Colts, Seattle Cascades, Southwind, Mandarins, Capital Regiment, The Magic of Orlando, Troopers, Pioneer, Kiwanis Kavaliers and I believe some D-II and III corps as well? In light of this fact do you realize how inane this sounds? Oh, you do? Oh good.
  5. I believe that, just as it was a for gone conclusion that everyone would be switching to Bb's (not to mention that certain corps had deals in the works that allowed for a full new line of Bb's the first season the rule passed), it was also such with amps. A couple of corps take the heat the first season, then, when the fans are a bit worn down, everyone slips them in the backdoor (both Bb's and amps). As for needing them because there is now another judge . . . who do you think added that judge in the first place? Could it be the very people who then passed the amplification rule? Ding ding ding, we have a winner!! For any of you that are supportive of amps just to allow the pit to be better heard, but not for the addition of sounds that could not be achieved unamplified, you should not support BD's use last year in the creation of the chug-chug train sound . . . impossible unamplified. Now weather you don't care or not . . . that's a different matter altogether. Of course, I have just been listening to Coast to Coast AM with George Nory, so I am feeling quite conspiracy theoryish . . .
  6. Hmm, I have not heard of some of those other ones, but I do know that: Spirit '80 (81?) had the guard all pick up horns and then they played so loud that they shattered the glass of the pressbox at finals. Just ask anyone who was(n't) there!!!
