  1. To each their own haha... that is why there are so many shows. I just disagree that Bush was cleaner but, I did not see their shows this past weekend since I was performing. I did hear they were good, but I like to see a lot of hard guard work and movement. I hope you enjoyed the weekend. And yes there were "wow" moments. Thanks!
  2. I will definitely say show design does help. Many people say they do not like this or that. Members today, especially younger members, want good design. They do not want to play random stuff put together just to play it. They are looking for design, for example this year Bucs, Hurcs, and Bush and Corpvets. These are shows that stick out in my mind this year. It takes an entire package along with names that members will know. There must be great variety and exciting drill. This is what keeps the younger members come for the first time and years after.
  3. How can you think that the Hurcs guard was not the best? They were awesome as well as doing a lot of great work and performing their butts off. There were also many "wow" moments. It is not about who play the loudest any more. I think Bucs, Hurcs and Empire had "wow" moments.
  4. It is not legitimate or fair to any drum corps to say that Bucs work harder. You can say that they may have a better product, talent or what have you, I do not necessarily agree at times, but to say that other drum corps do not work as hard is not a fair accusation. I myself work just as hard and am insulted by that comment. Many others should also. IMO!
  5. Why don't you guys judge then. Maybe the complaining will stop.
  6. I and the Hurricanes thank everyone for their compliments. We are working very hard!!! I wish luck to everyone out there. We can not wait for Mass.
  7. How many have actually witnessed the Hurricane's color guard. They blow me away. They are incredible.
  8. The Hurcs are excited about coming to the south for the show. We have a large weekend ahead of us. We will be traveling all over the North East. We are pumped for a follow up performance of this past Saturday. I and the Hurcs can not wait to hear all the corps.
  9. I hear that Ray... Mag 7 will be awesome. We are all pumped for this weekend. I can not wait for next weekend! How is everyone else doing?
  10. I hope everyone gets to see the Hurcs this year. Everyone will be entertained by this crew. People are right! What a great staff. They are full of energy and we are running and playing hard!
  11. Its gonna be kicking. If anyone wants to march in an exciting show and corps... COME CHECK US OUT AND PERFORM!!!! We only have a few holes left. Some are being filled this weekend so make it quick.
  12. The Hurricanes had a great camp weekend which ended with a full run through performance of this year's show Journey West. This weekend also saw the addition of Kevin Lowery to the brass staff. Kevin is currently the brass caption head at Norwalk High School and previously has taught with the Cavaliers and the Crossmen. Jonathan Schwartz was in town to work with the color guard. Jonathan had been the caption head for the Cadets color guard up until last year. Director Bernie Malesky said "Adding some great talented staff this year has really paid off in the level of quality of the corps. Drum Corps audiences are going to be in for a real treat this summer. The corps is anxious to get the season underway." The drum line and color guard are full. The corps is in need of a 1 baritone and 2 mellophones to fill out the brass at 48. If anyone is interested, pleas contact. Connecticut Hurricanes Good luck to all corps competing this summer.
