  1. Hi, I have some Xylophones and Vibraharps for sale. I would rather not do ebay, so I thought I would offer it here first. They are a 1964 Deagan Vibraharp No 512 I would like to sell for $900. The Musser Xylophones M51 is going for about $800-$1200 online as I would prefer not to have to ship it so I would go $700. The Saito CB700 is nice (the last key is cracked but who plays that one). I am asking $250. Pictures are located at http://www.corpsbus.com/. If you have any questions please contact me at forsale@corpsbus.com or 502-851-1038. Thanks Jon

  6. I am not sure if the recording does our bari's justice. From the where I was sitting during the performance the the bari's and contra was rocking. I have not seen the the pit parts for One More Time. I hope they add cowbell just for the hell of it :)
  7. Derby City Knights has posted a clip from our first performance. It was recorded with a keychain recorder, but it gives you an idea. Remember we still have 1 or 2 openings in our brass section So if you are in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio come on out. http://www.derbycityknights.com/audio/OneM...me_05-20-07.wmv
  8. Wooo hooo. DCK has an official home for the 2007 season. After roaming for the first three camps Carroll County High School in Carrollton, Ky has graciously offered their facilities for the entire season. I wanted to thank them publically for that! That also means since we are in Carrolton we are closer to Cincinatti and still very close to Indiana and all of Kentucky. So if you are looking to become part of this new corps come on out next weekend. We have parts and instruments in all sections ready for someone to step on up.

  11. That would be funnier then hell a 25 member corps marching with 10 hookers in the pit holding triangles (or wips depending on the show). :lolhit:
  12. Sleeping???? Are you saying that visual block was so easy you can do it your sleep? I am sure Dan could do something about that :)
  13. Our 2nd camp is less then one week away. Everyone is welcome to come on out and help make DCK's first year something to talk about. If anyone needs any directions or information about the camp feel free to check out www.derbycityknights.com or shoot me a message. Thanks Jon
  14. Just a thought.... 1) For DCA Senior Corps it seems to me it is alot easier to get a show off the ground when members are familiar with the pieces they are playing. Especially when the members have a life outside of drum corps (family, jobs, church and other social commitments). If they could practically play the music by sight after the first couple of runs, you are several steps ahead of pulling out a chart that no one has heard before. 2) As far as recruiting and retaining membership, it seems that it is easier to get someone excited about a show when it is something they know. Like "We are playing XXXX, you know like XXXX did in 19XX". It is really easy to get excited about something you have always wanted to do. 3) As far as the audience, except for a few kick ### rips, I find it a lot more dificault to watch a original show then a standard. Maybe I am a lazy or uncultured fan, but when it is a standard you know how it "should sound", you know if it is good or bad and you can sing a along. (In your head please!!!). On original shows I find I spend most of the time trying to figure out what the show is and not looking at the details of the show to see if it technically good. I do understand that things can be played too often, but there is a reason for that people want to play it :) Thanks Jon
  15. Wade thanks for buying it. It is a different one. We are trying to sell a couple of extra horns so we can fund some of the other needs of the new corps. It should come with everything you need (except mouthpiece) to start rocking your faculty recital including a case if they ask you to leave for playing too loud :)
  16. 23 hours left... Don't let the hustle and bustle of Christmas Eve let you forget about these great horns :) Merry Christmas BTW :)
  17. It would also be cool if the Pit could do some "Jug Band" licks.
  18. I love it johnny cash's "been everywhere" may be good for a few measures but could not go for ever since it is repeditive. maybe a drum break. "Uncle Pen" Ricky Scaggs, would be fun. "Down to the River to Pray" would be good for a slow intro or a choral
  19. I vote for Derby City welll because.... :) But I am thrilled to see this many new corps and look forward adding to the tradition of DCA.
