  2. You did not have to post that photo of me.Wow i was 26yrs old so long ago.It was 1978 and the one i am talking to is Rick Brown with the hair and lamb chops .He later did some charts fore the coats.Great mallet player.Coats have always had great snare lines and i am proud of all of them because from 197? to 2006 they could have gone anywhere but they choose to be a Bluecoat.Sorry Vic not going health problems this year.
  3. We had a lot of great drum lines but that one was my favorite. They worked hard ,never gave up and believed in themselves. We won drums at the U.S.Open,American Open and at Ypsalanti Santa Clara tied us for first place g.e drums.Yes Keni it was an all slingerland line but was best known as part of a fine blue line that began in 1975 And still today keeps up it's tradition. If the kids today just close there eyes they will see all of those lines before them, And that makes a chain that can't be broken and thats not just lagacy, thats family .Go Blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just one of the links Carl

  8. I see your point but the alumni was never contacted and was pointed out at times not welcomed. The problem was they ask to many questions about the board and how the corps administration was run and it was clear they were not invited to those answers.
  9. Read the other post. They were not welcome and were treated the same as the members and past staff. In September they had a small reunion and ask for old trophies .awards and other parts of history to show off and were ask to leave and told that old stuff was thrown away.50 plus years of history clear back to the senior corps the Cavaliers gone.
  10. First of all it's great to see all the concern for this organization. Let me say I was a member of this corp for thirteen years from the sixties to the seventies and back then it was a pround organization. I am saddened and embarassed that this has gone this far for this long and it's time to step up and see something done about it. Myself, former staff, and other alumni are getting together with legal assistance to research this problem and correct these mistakes. First of all let me say, this organization will not be moved out of town anywhere. This organization was founded in 1960 in Marion and will continue to thrive in this town. If anyone has any information that would prove helpful we are asking for all information and support we can get. So please e-mail me with any information concerning any wrong doings, horror stories, food problems that would help restore this organization. Or if you would like to be involved in the process. Together we can make this right again. Thank you, Carl Gannon
  11. Junior corps in late 60's early 70's.I think they made U S Open finals in 71 or 72.
  12. The hall was paid for years ago it is a old armory.great building and i hear the have purchased 3 or 4 properties on the block ,why. What ever you do don't put that money into your staff and kids.
  13. He is paid to run a drum corpes the bingo is to support that. They never filed for evaluation from dcI so where was the corps going to compete.Did the kids they had get money back they paid each month.Think of what they spent in tavel to camp plus time involved and not knowing who the staff was going to be.I may be wrong but they have not had a member from Marion County the last five years and made no attempt to.
  14. The tax report says they spent $24.000 on food and cooks, where did the money go.
