i hope that when your child gets on stage, they get booed. maybe it's not their fault that their teacher chose a play that you're not fond of, however......
you are still there to watch your child do what they love to do.
support them, keep your mouth shut.
the appropriate reaction to something you like is to clap, jump up and down, scream, and feed off of the emotion from the performer.
if you don't like something, don't react negatively. you are the dumb one here, you paid alot of money to go boo at one of the best drum corps in the country and make yourself look like an idiot.
i'm sure that your child being in danger during a production doesn't matter to you, because it's more important that you voice your imature opinion.
to those of you that booed tonight there at the show, and in the theatres....
you are a pitiful excuse for a person and a drum corps "fan". i am ashamed to be affiliated with you, and i look forward to the day that you maybe realize that your actions have now impacted not only the performers and performance on the field, but the experience of the people around you.
when any coprs comes on the field, watch them perform, even cheer more for the corps you like, but don't diminish the quality and importance of what you feel should, or should not be happening on the field because you are immature and not ready to expose yourself to something new.
after the cavaliers came off the field, i saw jeff fiedler from the stands furious about something, assuming that it was about the poor quality of the field. you would expect the same thing for your corps, you have put all of this work into creating a product to get to a field that doesn't have hashmarks? come on now..... in case you didn't realize, those are an integral part of marching CLEAN drill. that's like hosting a championship football game and forgetting to put up the goal posts.
don't criticize the cadets for expecting the field to be in proper marching condition, you would expect the same thing.
try, just try, tomorrow if you attend friday's competition to sit back and respect each performer.
watch the cadets amazing drill, watch blue devils great drum feature, be amazed by cavaliers integration of music and visual, listen to cadets play like they've got nothing to lose, close your eyes and let phantom take you away.
don't be immature, act like you would like to if YOU or YOUR CHILD were performing. it's that simple.
here's to great competition tomorrow....... Cadets, take it all the way!!!!!
