More musicals in drum corps please!

Hmm, I'd still argue that shows like 2015–2017 were still cohesive and easy to follow as a result. 2018 and 2019 much less so when they strayed from that formula.

The 1995 closer really was a perfect choice this year, and played basically note-for-note at that (shifted down a whole step of course).

Seeing a trombone played in that uniform will never seem right to me. Easy enough to disregard though.

A show that “feels” like this year’s but with all new music (for them or anyone) next year would be incredible.

It's OK to like old things, especially if the ones that replaced them aren't as good! Trying something new, deciding it doesn't work as well, and reverting is more commendable than trying something new and doubling down if it doesn't work, or not trying anything new at all.

Phantom's 2003-era design of "four pieces of music" with clear beginnings and ends (even if they transition into each other!) makes this show so much easier to follow than like…most these days.

Not sure what nostalgia you mean, I went my first drum corps show in 2005. Looks like they first started amping their pit in 2016.

It’s just weird considering G bugles we’re first retired by corps in 2000 but amped brass wasn’t allowed until 14 years later. I do wonder when Commandant’s Own started amping their pit, I could see why it might be hard to hear a soprano solo over it without amping that as well.

This Colts uniform is as good a compromise between traditional and modern that we're going to see, I feel. It actually reads really well from the high cam too.
