No matter what year you marched, or what corps you are marching with now, or if you are a fan, you are welcome to join the party, November 12th at the Seaford American Legion on Long Island. The fun starts at 8 PM. Cost is $30.00 per person, includes dinner and an open bar. Reservations and payment must be received by November 1st. Unfortunately, we cannot accomodate reservations at the door. Great to have some new folks there!! Friday night was a BLAST!! We hope more of you will be able to make it to Tuesday's rehearsal on the 27th!! (directions below) This "Rehearsal Report" was copied from another forum. I'll keep you updated as to new/current info. Again, thanks for the great intrest and looking forward to seeing more of the folks from DCP.... (copy from another forum) "WHAT A GREAT TIME!! Let me first say, the NY Jets Practice Bubble is without question, one of the finest rehearsal facility we've have ever seen and someplace any corps would be envious of. Easy to get to, easy access with alot of parking, soft astroturf to march on, and AC too. What a wonderful site to call home and we are lucky to have it. Thanks Bruce. Last nights rehearsal ( Sept. 9 ) was great. We are growing. We picked up 3 more horn players and 2 drummers. There also were 4 hornplayers on the sideline who just came to check us out but did not yet join. At least 2 of them took home music. We played through two songs. Battle Hymn is getting stronger every week and our new song sounded well for the first time playing it. Betty Kaer is arranging some guard work to go with our songs. John Hodge (an "original" Sunriser, and a legend) has stepped out of line due to doctors orders, but will remain as our Honor Guard Captain. Bob Murphy is doing an absolutely great job arranging and teaching the horn music. My respect for him has grown more and more everytime I see him work. We were missing 4 regulars due to conflict, when all are present we now have 13 hornplayers. Add the 4 guys watching from the side last night and we would have 17 horns. We still need drummers. And guard. But things are heading in a positive direction, and I cant wait till our first performance. Pizza and beer was enjoyed after practice ended. There are openings in all sections, rehearsal is easy to get to, everyone is having fun, so come on down and check us out. Everyone had a good time. It was great to see old faces come down to watch or participate." CONGRATULATIONS!!! Tom, Donna and I met while we marched in the Renegades (RCA)(Mass. not Cal) in 1970 and married in 1971 (first honeymoon was in Guelph,Ont. with 125 "friends", don't get married in June, or anyother time during the season...hehehe) AND, still happy after 34 years!! Tony B) DIRECTIONS TO THE BUBBLE: Take whatever Road gets you to the Meadowbrook Parkway north or south to Hempstead Turnpike West. Make Right Turn onto Earl Ovington Blvd. (just before the footbridge over the turnpike, end of Nassau Coliseum lots), Go north to the first traffic light (about 500'). Turn left into the Hofstra parking lot. Take parking lot road to the end(250'). Turn left (at small bubble) and go to far end of lot. You can park anywhere in the main lot.
