  1. Thank you for mentioning entertainment in the same breath as " technical finesse & demand". Being entertained is a personal emotion that, I believe, is unique to every individual in attendance. I have much time on my hands now so this is where I start getting in trouble. I propose the following changes should be discussed for the DCA Championships: Replace pr-lims with a technical evaluation in all captions except General Effect, both visual & music on all corps competing. Finals will be evaluated in Effect only with both scores being totaled for the final standings. I see many positive and negatives here, but if you want change this could be a start. One positive that I see is the pre-lim gate will increase because the 1st show is actually worth something. I also see many positive for the Corps as well. Lee, thanks for bringing this up.
  2. Happy Birthday "JOE". I wish I felt better to celebrate with you, but when all of this chemo & radiation is over who knows what kind of party it will be.I Love You Joe & many more Happy Birthdays to follow.
  3. I just was told that Cossetti feel out of the sled over Baghdad and landed in the hole that Saddam was in. Please confirm and keep us utd as this story unfolds. Also, it was reported that soldiers can hear some horrible screeching sounds, like someone is blowing into some kind of piping. Please, if you have any further info, post it so we can all follow this horrible tragedy as it unfolds. Merry Christmas
  4. Good one Joe, you lifted my spirits. Speaking of spirits, I'll see you later.
  5. On Joe Cossetti's Avatar: Is it true that the guy to your left is sitting and you are standing on a step stool?
  6. To All My Friends, I'll be laying low for a while as I will be starting Chimo next week. I understand it makes you feel very tired and sick until the treatment's over, so I'll be saving my energy to get back in full swing when this is done. I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays with a GREAT NEW YEAR for ALL. See you all soon.
  7. Hey Andy! How'bout the original MINI-Corps guy, Jim Cossetti? MINI is the word.
  8. No! Cossetti is the guy with the taxi cab hat on. Back then, the Cossetti's ran a transportation service to all of the DCA competitions. The company slogan was, " I'll get you there for a Hump".
  9. It's hard to say, because the guy is squatting down, but could it be Cossetti or James Woods?
  10. Was the Corps named "The Headless Horsemen". I can do better then this. I'm sorry, but that's my guess.
  11. Many a Championship was won on Randalls Island for both Junior & Senior Corps. Some Friday nights there could be 5 to 10 corps rehearsing. Fran, it does bring back some wonderful memories.
  12. One more comment about Ithaca, I was standing and having a drink with Swan, when the poop hit the fan I swear that Cossetti was in the middle of it.
  13. My sincere condolences to the Murray Family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
  14. Jeff, Cossetti has been my favorite person to bust on. It goes back to when we were DM's at Archie. It's hard to believe, but "JOE" Cossetti actually thought that he was the one to be on the podium to start the corps and to conduct the Concert. Because I was the drill designer, better at conducting and involved the audience to make them feel part of our show, Cossetti politely stepped aside and reluctantly bowed to me and allowed me to feed my ego. I'm sure it wasn't easy for him, but every time we asked the corps if changes should be made in the DM department, he never stood up to complain. Wait, rumor has it that he did stand up to voice his concerns, but we couldn't tell if he was sitting or standing. He tried desperately to compete with me to no avail, so the corps officially appointed him to be our Mascot. He was so cute in his little uniform and seemed to be happy with the role he had to play, the corps allowed him to conduct one number, which was Stars and Stripes, and to be featured as an ornament towards the end of the Color-Pre by lifting him on top of the flag and having his arms wave to the crowd. There are plenty of more stories about our partnership during that period, but that should be on another thread.
  15. Andy, Did you ever hear of Head & Shoulders? Cossetti used it so much, well look what happened.
