  4. The youtube tunnel stream or the FN? Are you sure you are not watching the first part of yesterdays broadcast (prelims)? Which was free.
  5. Nobody wants to hangout in the chat? Come on in. http://tinychat.com/wdiio
  6. Pacific Crest brass just set the new bar for that impact point.
  7. All video feeds over the internet buffer. If there was no buffer, the feed would be incredibly choppy. Your computer will grab media ahead of time to make the viewing experience cleaner, that is all buffering is. It's just that the live buffer won't be much of a difference than buffering it 1 minute prior. From what I can tell, the live broadcast is at least 10 seconds behind what is happening in real time. This gives everyone a "buffer". If there is truly an issue on their end, using the DVR function 1 minute behind may increase performance. Since the FN is unusual in many ways, it isn't clear whether it will let you buffer more than say, 10 seconds. If it will allow you to, you will see a cleaner broadcast as long as your computer isn't the "weak link". Also, if you are viewing a part of the feed that nobody else is, there may be less hiccups on their end of things. Long story short: It's not clear. I have tested the setup on a few computers and networks. I have noticed when viewing videos in DVR that are currently live, it is smoother. I only have had major issues when in LIVE mode. I run a fiber connection at work.
  8. Flags are useless symbols of tyranny, as the story of Les Mis depicts. #### "congressional" policy. Do whatever you want with flags. It takes a lot of brainwashing/propaganda to worry about flags.
  9. http://i.imgur.com/hJorWLF.jpg My convo with the FN Live Support.... Same thing...
  10. Yes, you can watch Allentown videos after finals. Or even next year. Do you not understand the diminishing value as time moves forward on the VODs? They exponentially lose value as each day passes closer to finals, and after finals they are practically useless.
  11. Like others have stated, I haven't had a cable outage in years... The FN goes down every live broadcast. And, when you want to restart it, it may take 5 minutes before you can log back in. That's a big deal , considering the corps only preforms for 12 minutes. The FN says that they aim to put up videos 48 hours after the show ends. That's a lot of time, in my opinion. This is coming from someone who edits video, specifically for the internet. Especially for single cam footage. They are already well past their deadline. It's the 5th and the VODs from the 2nd still aren't posted. Heck, people are posting high def videos (1080p!) of the performances the night OF the performance for free. What's the point of offering VODs of Allentown if we get them after Semi-Finals? That is like watching a football playoff game after the superbowl. The bottom line is, they offer a product and charge us a price. If they don't follow their end of the deal, it's their mistake. We have every right to complain. And, the idea that it is 6$ a month is a farse. The FN offers VODs/Live footage for less than 3 months.
  12. I'm voting Cadets. They have a great team of teachers and designers that can make big moves in a short period of time. It is highly unlikely, but we'll see!
  13. Yeah, it's already past the 48 hours for the show from the 2nd. Ugh...
  14. Anyone frustrated that the FN VODs still aren't posted from the 2nd?
  15. Available at retailers, my local Best Buy has them. Edit: Although, you better call in advance!
  16. http://www.amazon.com/Google-Chromecast-Streaming-Media-Player/dp/B00DR0PDNE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375281850&sr=8-1&keywords=chromecast Chromecast, which is only 35 dollars, allows you to stream media from your phone, tablet or computer to your HDMI TV. Currently, it allows you to stream Netflix, Youtube, Google Play and Chrome Browser tabs. You can load the FN up in chrome browser and stream it to your TV! A new way to view your drumcorps from home.
  17. Everyone is complaining about the FN... But,is this format for finals going to be handled by the same server/company? This is what I am most concerned with. Will the finals broadcast be more consistent and higher quality than the FN, or will it be a rehash of the FN?
  18. I see that the live cast isn't necesarilly associated with the Fan Network. Will it be high def video and audio? Will there be playback that I can re-watch again? How long will I have access to the footage if this is the case? Will it be "better" production quality than the FN (especially the audio)?
  19. Chatroom if anyone is interested. Has anyone posted one? Edit: Had one from before : http://tinychat.com/corpsband
  20. The Billy Mays Remembrance Foundation will donate 400 cases of Oxy Clean to the corps withe the dirtiest drill.
