  1. I agree with that...I haven't been a fan of the BD narration, but I was very surprised to see that the narrator was playing while he was speaking. Good job out of him!
  2. ...which will be driven by the Easter Bunny. That's funny stuff, though. :)
  3. Like outside to the parking lot, maybe...
  4. With the tie for 17th, does anyone know if there will be 18 corps competing tomorrow or whether some kind of tiebreaker will be used?
  5. I don't want to be offensive either (although I'm going to be), but every time they talked, I got dumber. Did James really say that there was hype "in the grass" after he stood in BD's drum warm-up? Wow.
  6. Actually, despite my vocal support of the Scouts all season, I thought Bluecoats had them tonight.
  7. Definitely Blue Devils, but followed closely by the 'Coats. I actually liked the way Cascades used the narration, and Cadets' use is fairly palatable as well.
  8. The postcards were definitely in the category of "This-Idea-Didn't-Work-But-We-Spent-A-Lot-Of-Money-On-Them-So-######-We-Better-Use-'Em!"
  9. I haven't liked any of Madison's changes this season (except for the Carmen reveal.) My buddy pointed out in the theater tonight that the best ending they had was the one they had in June.
  10. That was my reaction as well. Tonight was the first time that I actually saw Cadets' show, after having listened to it numerous times. The visual program didn't do that much for me - and I really like the music.
  11. Relatedly, at one point (over half way through) in BD's show, a guard member was holding a flag. I leaned over to my friend and whispered, "Oh my God! A FLAG!" :D
  12. That's the downside to Super 3...same tickets each night. If you want to move around to different seats for different performances, you have to wait until the single night tickets go on sale - which could well mean that you get three different seats, all of which are marginal. And they charge your CC immediately.
  13. Kudos to you, then; it's a sweet picture. While I've been a drum corps fan my whole life, my wife only got into it after she met me. Well, we both sat through the rain in Stillwater - just so I could see PR live, shivering and teeth chattering. We bought t-shirts from the souvie trucks just to have something dry to change into (we would have anyway). And then afterward, she tells me that, despite how cold she was, she'd do it again. If that's not love (or at least drum corps obsession), I don't know what is! BTW, I went to Menomonie this year, and I was impressed with that little stadium. Nice place to watch a show, I thought.
  14. To be honest, I don't remember. I think I downloaded it from someplace and then shrunk it down for my avatar. But I know I wasn't at Mankato last year. The only time I got to see Phantom last season was at the stand still DOWNPOUR performance at Stillwater. :(
  15. This is one of the wisest things I've seen said on this topic...well done!
  16. A thought: with BD in Europe, how much constructive feedback on their show do you think they've received to this point? Not that European judges can't provide feedback or anything, but it's conceivable that they have a different conception of corps than that possessed by North American judges. Plus, if BD is heads and tails above the competition (I have no idea if they are or not), are the judges more likely to be all Duckies and Bunnies with them instead of providing constructive criticism? The essence of my point is that the corps that have remained stateside have been tweaking their shows for weeks, and I wonder if BD will have to put their show modifications on the fast track.
  17. A couple of weeks ago before the Cedar Rapids show, I was chatting with a Colts staffer who told me that they were going to be adding some giant postcards to the field for their show. I believe he told me they'd be in by the weekend (which would have been June 25-26). Well, I saw the Colts last week in Normal and just watched their clip from Columbia on SeasonPass, and there's still no postcards on the field. Anyone close to the Colts (or just with knowledge of the situation) know why they're not out there yet? Has the idea been scrapped or just delayed?
