  1. Star 93 - Dance of Vengence Talk about you're weird rhythms! I practice directing by doing this part of the show like every day. It took like a week to get it down though...
  2. I'm nuts about *Riverdance*, so I'll go with that. But only as a full show. While there is one corps in the US that has done a Riverdance show(Pioneer 97), and a bunch of International Corps that have done a R.dance show; I still think one of the bigger corps should do it...because it really is an awesome show to do. Cadets or Bluecoats(who says BLOO has to do jazzy stuff forever?) would make this fit like a glove IMO...but I'd rather have the Coats do it just for the sake of seeing if it's a good idea to break you're corps style. plus, the Coats' hometown is less than an hour from here, so there's always convenience!
  3. Okay, that's the response I can understand. It sounded like you thought they were overrated in the sense that they were some of the most horrible players you've heard, and didn't deserve the credit they got for the show, and not their playing. For instance, Phantom definately couldn't contend with BD brass that year. They played a great show, just not the best brass like some people thought. Now you don't sound as mean to me
  4. I agree and disagree with you. There is an invisible line you cross to get from the good usage of props to the bad usage of props. I have no idea how to describe this line, but it's definately there. Like, VK, can basically get away with ANYTHING. They can use props, because it's funny and not really serious. I'd say something else, but I know I'd end up saying something that will one day be wrong, so I'll save myself the humiliation by leaving you with the invisible line that can't be described.
  5. The 0 huh... hmm...let's think this over shall we? PhantomR beat me to it... but seriously dude, that was only 1 second. They still played a #### of a show, so I don't see why you would call them one of the most overrated.
  6. Agreed. :) It is easier for a corps to be more entertaining when the music is much more appealing to the audience. However, there are times when music that's not geared toward the audience and/or not easy get into gets regarded as one of the "favorites". Off the top of my head Star 93, Cavies 2002, & BD 2002 are some of my personal favs that do this. It's still possible to do music that is harder to get into or that is "cut and paste" and be freaking awesome; it's just easier to be freaking awesome with appealing music. Both types of shows can be "gotten into" by the audience, one just takes a little more thinking (I'm with you all the way though. I'm sick of cut&paste stuff for now)
  7. Oh come on, Bones and Cascades aren't that bad. If Cascades get rid of their narration, that is... <**> I can see Colts in finals though.
  8. Even though I don't really like BAC at all, I highly doubt they won't make finals. They execute well enough to be in finals. (Although I would like to see Cascades & Spirit back in Finals) Crown definately shouldn't be that high up...or rather...Madison and Bluecoats shouldn't be that far behind. I don't doubt Crown can score a 93, but I think coats and madison can pass that no problem.
  9. 1st MADISON!... ...maybe a tie for 1st with Cavs or BD :P okay 1st ...any one of the top three at this point, I'm not sure. (Cavs, BD, Cadets)...(Madison) 2nd -... 3rd -... 4th Scouts 5th Coats 6th Phantom 7th SCV 8th Crown 9th Glassmen 10th Xmen 11th BAC 12th Colts 13th BK 14th Spirit 15th PC 16th Cascades 17th Southwind 5-6-7 can go any way at this point...SCV and Phantom might swap, Coats might actually do it...I dono. It's a craaaaaazy year for the middle-top...
