  1. ??? i liked all but two world class groups, so i must have designed the rest of them?..................... that sounds right :troll food: Nice try though i wish i was that fabulous! if that were true, i would not have near as much time to sit here and bicker with you! gotta run i have 6 rehearsals to b at tonight...
  2. obvoiusly its not up yet, but im sure it will be evident.
  3. what is evident in replay is that they dropped alot. i think the crowd will love the show, the soundtrack is so fragile however, that people dont scream over top of it. the ending is so soft and subtle you could hear a pindrop. and in prelims did recieve a standing ovation. not to mention all the intellectuall things in cgs show, it is about something and has many layers. not just a guard show with no concept, at least when cg did 1812 a couple years ago they had a neat concept, and it was still intellectual in nature. I guess i just like that though. my favorite shows this weekend however were like that, i love the shows that have more to them than, just a guard show, i.e. avon... witches accusations, woven in the show, cg nothing gold can stay, well if you know anything about robert frost, that show has alot of meaning. northview has a great idea, and follows thru with it well. centerville has a really neat idea and they follewed thru as well, i think they are just young this year. carmel loved the on cloud 9 idea with clouds ballons were so cool, they seemed like cherubs in the sky. I just didnt care to much for warren central and burg, as it seemed like just a guard show to music. and in world class i think you should have more ideas than that . but maybe we just have different taste. and that ok. lets face it tho, wgi isnt just about getting the crowd on there feet. if it was... every guard would do a minute long easy clean flag feature at the end of their show to bombastic loud music. whoo hoo
  4. yes they definately out performed cg! as cg had a really bad run, i stopped counting after 8 unfortunate boom booms, but design wise i think cg will best miamisburg signifigantly in the end. of the 10 captions between prelims and finals this weekend 7 had cg in first, and even in the bad finals run most had cg up ! but 1 judge had them down 6 tenths. check out the recap and profiling of these two shows. it doest look too good for miamisburg. But they certainly performed their show well in finals and cg did not. I think that will be obvious on replay. and on march 1st i can see them winning by .1 with those two performances. come to think of it i only saw three world class guards that had good runs, warren, burg and avon. and all three units moved up. but in the end i think the order will be more like prelims, if all perform well.
  5. wow look at least i nailed the placements exactly. i do think the scores for everyone were low, i hope they go up tomorrow. i bet wgi is holding back numbers to leave somewhere to go.
  6. wow, you must be hard to imprees, avon winning movement last year was all about the "norm"???? do tell what movement program does impress you?
  7. i think i politely disagree, just look at avon last year, the first thing they did movement wise ...blew everyone away..and it was no ballet thats for sure. modern dance for modern times people! groups that are approaching movement from a modern standpoint can do just as well if not better. thats where the innovation in dance will come from i think, not in ballet terms as ballet is ballet, all with terms and definition. I think for our activity, that is based primarily around non classicly trained dancers. who generally shouldnt be trying to do ballet (allthough training in ballet is still great) should be using more modern things as a base and that is where we will be seeing different things and those things should get credited. If youve seen avon and centergrove this year you will see what i mean. they both really stand out from the rest as movement is a huge part of both programs, in very different ways, yet both amazing! And both setting standards. without a ballet vocabulary to speak of in most of the choreography.
  8. well, this just in..... logan not going to china was a scam. not true, just rumor and flame to get the fire going!
  9. this just in, my west coast informant who teaches logans drumline, just informed me, that the china trip may be falling thru! and at this point isnt happening. If that is the case, logan will be attending WGI and they have just a little time left to get registered!!! wow!!!
  10. I can tell you, i watched alter ego, and thought i was watching centergrove 2004! same music, angels, wearing white, similiar in many ways i think. thoughts? In a year where old shows are rehashed, is this another song to add to the growing list of songs or ideas redone?
  11. hey calm down this is all in good fun, and i certainly dont want you to not post for a year, who would i argue with. but i do think avon and cg will beat miamisburg! past that.. i think it could be pretty competative so who knows. end of story
  12. i just think wgi needs to add 10 points t the possible overall highest possible score, because at this rate, by 4 weeks from now people will be scoring darn near a 100 3 weeks before wgi finals. what are the gonna do?
  13. i cant wait to see your finals predictions, where the burg overtakes avon..hahaha please do it
  14. hey im just having fun, dont take it personal, i like reading yourposts! i said indiana dominting IN ohio not dominating ohio. i dont need to do any homework i know all the good ones thanks
  15. finals avon 91.7 cg 91.5 carmel 86.8 miamisburg 84.6 northview84.5 warren central 82.0 centerville 79.8 plymouth 76.5
  16. alright here you go prelims avon 89.7 cg 88.5 miamisburg 84.9 carmel 84.8 northview 83.6 warren central 81.8 centerville 78.5 plymouth 75.1
  17. Ps. um hello what do you means ohios world groups, as pride and zydeco both are designed by people that design for the good indiana guards, keith potter, michael townsend, jen house, all three design for cg and avon, and individually at pride, zydeco and onyx! stop making it ohio versus indiana...esp when ohio is snatchin designers from elsewhere all i said is that the guards from indiana would be strong! all joking aside, i hope to see all guards give good performances at dayton
  18. absolutely you have a deal, with avon and cg beating the burg, but not on the 10 pointing c-ville... as it could be 11 or 12 points.
  19. well i think cg will stack a little over 10 points above centerville. not a contest. Ive seen miamisburg, and that kind of hype is a little premature. to me its the same miamisburg as the past couple of years. get done early come on strong fade away,......I think centergroves rendition of 1812, like 3 years ago was much more interesting, fun, and exciting to watch. does miamisburg have a concept? it seems like alot of people standing really close together doing a guard show with a bell in the way. centerville needs to watch out for carmel, northview and warren central, come to think of it so does miamisburg. My opinion= miamisburg has no chance at winning the regional not next to avon and centergrove. I see indiana dominating in ohio!
  20. Its a little early to be making predictions in only the third week, There are many amazing groups that still have yet to come out Centergrove and avon are both great this year. I think arcadia will be somewhere too. the season is just getting started. Nothing is set in stone. Ive seen both centergrove and avon and wouldnt be surprised if cg beat avon in the near future. As they have one of the most beautiful elegent shows i have ever seen. point being..nothing is set in stone! should be interesting at the mideast regional with like 8 probable finalists in attendence! but lets prepare to see the rankings move all around this year especially when they are going to run out of points to give people as we pass the 100 mark in a few weeks, cuz at the rate we are going, this is the highest scoring year this early...ever! I guess getting rid of the block number was a good idea. or was it?
  21. all videos work except for miamisburg? whats up with that?
  22. oh my tell me you are all joking...there is no question here. Just march a hole... that would be the least distracting thing. If she marches with a sling and air flags or doesnt airflag. It doesnt matter. that is the most distracting thing you can do. everyone will just watch her march around.. having a kid do that is embarrissing for the student. and very taboo. dont do it. just march a hole. most of the time people wont even notice theres a hole.
  23. yes i agree. world class units should be trying to reinvent themselves somewhat yearly. I dont like seeing the same..(formula) if you will from the same groups year in and year out. flannagan being a good example. the guard is very talented. but stylistically look the same year in and out.
