  1. I am having the same problem. It's nice that the young people out in the drum corps world get a change to see the Bridgemen and some of the other old GREAT corps. I remember when 27th put on that show at nationals in Boston. Some people next to me wanted to know "who are they"?
  2. Anyone know who did the arrangement for the United Airlines TV add?
  3. I can get the audio, but not the picture. I get a message something about I am missing a file that Quicktime does not have. How do I correct this.
  4. Love the picture of your NEW ring!!!!! It looks GREAT.
  5. I don't know what to tell your parents. I put my daughter on a bus in in 1980 and told her I will see you in Birmingham AL. It was one of the best things I every did. She continued to march for a number of years. She is now 40 years old and her best friend is, well her friend from the corp she marched with. This past year her husband purched ticket for national in Foxboro. Both of them went with their husbands. At the show it was like old home week for them, meeting all the people that they marched with over the years. Tell you parents that you will meet a great bunch of people that will remain you friends for years to come.
  6. To up date you on the "merger-menia" in MA in the late 70's two corps, The wilmington Crusaders and the Militiamen from Bedford formed the "Crusading Militiamen". This only lasted about a year when they joined up with another small class "B" corps. It was then that Malden came into the picture and the new corps was called the Guardsmen of Middlesex County. The other corps did not the money or management to run a large corrps at that time. I do have some question and correct me if I am wrong but: 1. Div I corps receive "performance money" for every show they are in. It's my understanding that it's about $2,500. 2. Div I corps did not have to pay for housing at the Championship week. 3. Div II & III corps had to pay for there housing. 4. Not all Div I corps do a full tour. 5. Some of the Div I corps were smaller then ECJ. If all of the above is correct then I I would say from a financial point of view ECJ should be allowed to compete in Div I. ps. Russ what part of the merger were you from ?
  7. http://www.atlanticguardian.org/dci.pix.htm This web page was posted in the Div II/III section. I though that it would be fun for the people that did not attend any of the Div II/III show to see what they missed. Enjoy.
  8. Thank you for your pictures of the Div II/III corps this year. They are some of the best drum corps I have seen in a number of years. It was nice of you to highlight these corps. Sometimes I think the drum corp community thinks that drum corps is Div I and only I. I attended the Div II/III finals and told a lot of people at the Div I show on Friday that they were missing some VERY intertaining and very well performed shows in Div II/III. To all the member of Div II/III keep up the good work and don't forget to intertain the people in the stands. See you all next season.
  9. I'm what a lot of people call an OLD timer. My daughter marched in her first corps at 7 or 8 years old back in 1975. She marched for 10 years and I have seen a lot of troublesome judging. One judge at a show gave her corps horn line such a lot score that even the horn instructor for another corp went to bat for them. That being said they continued on and just got better each year. She said as long as I did the best I could do the judges score does not matter. She can't tell you today what the scores were back then or where they placed, but she as gained a lot of friends over the years. Now 40years old she is going to the finals on Saturday with her best friends who marched with her when they were 16 years old. They continue to talk about the good time....but never about the scores.
  10. Great Job, as you can see by the replys your work is appreciated.
  11. Thanks for the information. Now I have to go to the bank get a loan and fill up the gas tank. Can you say road trip???? I'm trying to find corps in one area and visit them. From NH to Cape Cod is a road trip for one day.
  12. Do I detect some BAD feeling about ECJ coming from the Spartans camp???? The re-caps say that they also have a very good drum line, CG and oh yes the others in the horn line are not too bad. I know you all love your corps, but taking a shot at another corps is not what this is all about.
  13. Thanks for the information. I hope that the Kiwanis Kavaliers, Carolina Crown and Capital Regiment get a change to enjoy the Beaches on Cape Cod.
  14. I live north of Boston and I would like to visit some of the corps in my area. How about a list of who is staying and where? IF you have information on Div 1 that would be OK to.
  15. What is it with these numbers? Spartan go from a 85 to an 88, ESJ goes from a 85 to an 86 (that's within reason) and Blue Star and OC go down????? I know corps improve then they go out on tour, but almost 3 point in one show to the next and other corps going down in score? That will make tonights show even more interesting. I have been watching this activity since 1976 and it get more interesting every year.
  16. I have been to two Div II/III shows and one Div I show this year. It looks like Div II is going to be one of the most interesting battles in DCI in a number of years. As an example the scores for last week were Spartans 85.15 (without the penalty) ECJ 84.90, Blue Star 84.35 and OC 83.15. ECJ and Spartans are starting out on tour this week and as we all know once on tour the course tend to improve. If you like competition you would be crazy to pass up the Div II and III shows in Brockton.
