  1. you mean it's not just my set up? I hear "click-click-click" every few seconds
  2. The larger percentage of mouthbreathers in the denominator will make the resulting metric lower. Of course I could tweak the formula to account for percentage of mouthbreathers who are also giving a standing ovation.
  3. I've got a simple yet effective metric to measure audience engagement. Divide the percentage of people giving a standing ovation at the end by the percentage of mouthbreathers in the audience. Think about it! A simple picture could be analyzed and would eliminate subjective scoring in that category.
  4. Suviduvi, hit the button to change "input" on your tv maybe?
  5. Will the Pacific Crest (correction!) contra that fell in Little Rock be marching?
  6. Thanks CLD. Oh noes! Poor guy! I hope he will be okay.
  7. Where in the show, at what minute:second is it? I looked and looked at the PC show and couldn't see it.
  8. I'm sitting here with my jaw on the floor. I just bought the '93 finals dvd and was discussing with a fellow fan how '93 appeared to be a "very good year".
  9. As an earlier post said, after they marched in championship winning shows "life" happened and they were disconnected from the activity for quite awhile before coming back. The same thing happened to me. I never marched drum corps, just h.s. and college MB, but got very interested in drum corps back in the mid-80's while living in CA and seeing Santa Clara and Blue Devils. Even after I got married I kept going to shows but after awhile "life" happened and I didn't go to any shows and missed the PBS broadcasts. When I was 35 or so I made my way back to the activity. Now almost 50 yrs old I go to all the local shows, subscribe to Fan Network, and go to the theater broadcasts. I even got to go to finals at the Rose Bowl which was the best trip ever. Perhaps the late 20's and early 30's crowd you are looking for are in that stage of their lives where there is a lot of change with attention given to new careers and families, but will hopefully come back to be avid fans and supporters.
  10. I don't like how the voiceovers run into each other at the end.
  11. http://www.speedtest.net/result/2075374787.png upload 5.59Mps. I wonder if that is supposed to be fast enough for Beta. It is kind of jerky for me.
  12. You are talking about Crossmen guard right? Just making sure. They need to quit working on this and go the opposite direction. I kept wondering why the guard, especially the guys, had goofy plastic grins plastered on their faces throughout the show. It was not attractive. I also hate it when they make those stupid "oh! I'm so surprised!" faces after they catch a toss. Smiling and enjoying yourself is nice. Making goofy fake grins and surpise faces is terrible.
  13. I'm sorry for the kids who worked hard to pay their dues and then had the rug pulled out from under them. I can understand the disappointment in a way. When I was a sophomore in high school I was going to try out for All-State concert band for the first time. I practiced my audition music daily for months. On the big day when we went to audition we were sent home. Our no-good band director hadn't paid his dues to the northeast Oklahoma outfit so they didn't let us audition. It feels like a punch to the gut.
  14. Well crap! My sister was just about to hit the purchase button online to reserve and buy tickets but at 9am the tickets promptly went offline and you have to buy them at the show for $5 more each.

  16. Thanks for all the pictures Kevin. Some thoughts on the show for those who are thinking of going next year: Parking: Plenty of free parking across the street from the stadium. We arrived late while the first corp Genesis was playing but still plenty of parking. Parking right next to the stadium looked like $5 in places. Stadium: Big crowd. We had the $30 seats about halfway up on the 40 yrd line. I think next year I will go a little higher and get seats online sooner than the day before as those were the highest I could get in the premium section. Will call was fast and efficient, but like I said we were late so the crowd was already inside. We were given wrist bands for reentry. The stadium was really nice and event staff were friendly. It wasn't a huge stadium (say, compared to Broken Arrow, OK) so you felt like you were close up to the performers. Congratulations to the Bentonville Pride for their first annual Northwest Arkansas Music on the Move! It was a good venue and I will definitely be returning and bringing friends and family.
