  1. When I marched in Garfield, we performed at Six Flags in Atlanta and marched the Disney World Parade both in 1979.
  2. Yes sir I can... because I now live down south, and many days have cravings for the great cruisine found in NJ. NJ Pizza, NJ bread, NJ Baked goods, NJ Diner food, Boardwalk food (yeah we share the same ocean, but lack boardwalks), Figure 8 pretzels (okay those are from Philly, but can be found in NJ), NJ Hot Dogs w/sauerkraut (cole slaw is the southern substitute, not the same), NJ Sausages with peppers, onions, and potatoes Not just NJ, but soft serve ice cream especially Carvel and Kohls Bros

  4. Danny, We may need to find out if Jimmy Buff's staff would be willing to deliver some dogs to the hungry percussionist from NC say around 4pm on July 1. They may need some great NJ cuisine to get them ready for their mini tour performances. What do you think?

  6. Jean, YES, Gold will be taking the same walking "tour" of Maryland as Skyliners.
  7. Carolina Gold is excited to be in Dover, NJ on July 1. The corps is also looking forward to hanging with everyone after the contest, which is unusual for us as we normally head back onto the busses after contests to get back to NC. July 1 is the beginning of Carolina Gold's "mini tour". Gold is scheduled to stay north of the Mason Dixon line until July 4.

Carolina Gold is excited to announce that the FIRST GUARD REHEARSAL for 2006 will occur on Saturday April 22 10am to 9pm and Sunday April 23 9am to 4pm At Edwards Middle School Rocky Mount, NC 2006 Carolina Gold Color Guard Staff Lenny Westermoreland, Guard Caption Head Lenny has taught guards throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio and Tennessee for over 22 years and brings a wealth of knowledge in design and instructional experience to Carolina Gold’s guard program. Lenny was a performing member of the Pride of Cincinnati Winterguard and was the founder of Aubreata Winterguard – the first independent guard from North Carolina to make finals at WGI World Championships. He is the former Instructor/Designer for WGI World Finalist Concord HS. In 2002, he began working with Croatan HS and has developed that program to National Recognition in BOA and WGI. Croatan Winter Guard is the 2005 WGI Scholastic Open Silver Medalist, 2006 AIA Independent Open Gold Medalist, and 2006 WGI Independen Open Gold Medalist Lynda Kachman, Assistant Guard Caption HeadLynda returns to the Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps family this year, she is no stranger to Carolina Gold, having marched on the weapon line in 2003 and 2004. She has been a clinician with Central Carolina Camps, taught numerous band camps for many schools in Southern, Central, and Eastern NC. Lynda has recently completed her 5th year with Scotland High School, 2006 AIA Scholastic A1 Gold Medalist and 2006 WGI Scholastic A Silver Medalist. Michelle Adcock, Visual Instructor Michelle is a color guard designer in the Southeastern Pennsylvania area. She is the color guard director and designer at Spring-Ford Area High School in Royersford, PA where she oversees both the outdoor and indoor guard programs. Her performance experience includes the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Marching Band, Zephyr Indoor Color Guard, the Steel City Ambassadors Drum & Bugle Corps, the All-Star Flag Team for the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the 2005 DCA World Champion Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps. Michelle is a member of the National Judges Association where she serves as a visual adjudicator in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. Lyn Benitz, Guard Instructor Lyn has been teaching high school colorguard for the past 15 years. She has worked with a number of successful band programs throughout the states of NC and VA. Lyn is currently the visual coordinator for the Havelock High School Marching Rams in Havelock, NC, where her guard has continued to win top honors every year. She is also the instructor for the indoor guard Panache 2006 AIA Scholastic A3 Silver Medalist. She continues to judge many fall competitions throughout the state of NC and served as a visual consultant to many bands in the eastern NC area.   16. Hey John, Glad to see you are feeling better, we missed you this weekend. YES it was a wonderful rehearsal, looking forward to many more....very productive. Bawker, Thanks for cheering on Gold. You are always welcome to hang with us. We'll be in Rocky Mount all spring, once the summer arrives, it will be difficult to see us there, as we'll be on the road.
