  1. One thing to add was that after the booing ended for crowns drop - the entire crowd gave them a very nice standing ovation. Same with SCV.
  2. I just called DCI office and confirmed only semi-finals will be streamed.
  3. i thought they were live streaming quarter finals... any truth to that?
  4. does anyone know if they are streaming all of quarter finals or just the last 17? Right now they are just showing updates every 15 seconds.
  5. Anyone who has seen both Colts and Spirit have any thoughts on the Colts chances for a 12th place finish?
  6. Glad to see they are all in now - and i hope you or TW got the drivers in the mail. Matt
  7. Trust me, the Colts would love not to have used VHP this year - the rules for the finals venue made that impossible because NOTHING is allowed to touch the field except pneumatic wheels (so we were told). This made pulling just fabric out not an option. I understand any venues concern with not having their turf damaged, a very good concern to have, but it is also what forced the colts to build such heavy/ seemingly dangerous props. just my .02
  8. I hope they haven't ran in to new troubles b/c the last tests that we ran on them two or three members could move them pretty easily. They are somtimes a little hard to get started depending on how the wheels are oriented in relation to the direction they want to move it, but it usually just takes a little extra push to get them moving. Once they do i have found they roll very well. As for the sharp edges - they were in the process of filing some of the bad ones down, although any of the sharp edges that you could come in contact with would only be during putting them together or taking them apart. Who ever moves them will have very nice handles to use. :)
  9. I agree with you that the show is enjoyable as is and i hope they do not become a distraction(if done right i don't think they will), however, i am guessing the postcards have become a pretty major investment that they could not "abandon" them now.
  10. To correct the issue of getting them through the gates the almost 15'x30' postcard can now "flip" up and roll on its back end - making it roughly 5' wide. It only takes four people to do that and they actually move fairly well like that. I am glad that they have taken certain precautions to help make sure that no one gets hurt. From what i have heard it will be staff/volunteer parents moving them to and through the gates anyway.
  11. As one who has spent time with the construction of the postcards I can tell you that the original design, while close, wasn't going to withstand the stress of transporting, assembling, using in the show, and disassembling all the way to the end of the season. Another problem was that the postcards being as large as they are would not fit through a fair amount of the gates to stadiums. There were some other minor issues as well. All of those design issues have been corrected and the postcards should be out soon. They are really cool :) – I think they are really going to add to the show by helping tie the storyline in.
