  1. As the 2006 seeason approaches thought it was an appropiate time to ask about some of the stadiums where shows are held. Tickets are now going on sale for various shows. In the New England area two of the shows are held in what I would consider inappropiate stadiums. The show in Beverly and the show in Bristol,RI are two that have stadium issues. The seating is very limitted. How can the judges in the press box score a show accurately when they are so close to the field? If Indy becomes a reality is this the time for DCI to have set criteria for show sponsors and their stadiums. It seems to me, it is like going to a Major League Baseball game and having it played on a Little League Field. I understand there are good reasons for shows taking place at Stadiums like these, but are these reasons more important than why they should not have them at such limited stadiums. This thought got triggered, because I took family members and friends (28 in all) to see Blast at the Providence Performing Arts Theater. Third time seeing it. First time with the reduced cast. The only downside was I feel the auxilliary was more effective when they had more in the cast.Still a great show. Some friends as a result are interested in taking their kids to a drum corp show now. That got me to thinking that depending which show, thus which stadium ,will affect the viewing pleasure.
  2. If the acouistics will be similiar to what they are now.then - NO! Who has gone to a show in Indy? I thought it was the worst stadium ever for music. However if they work out the acouistic situation then... Speaking of Stadiums this might be a good time to ask if size matters-see new topic.
  3. I agree! Brass Roots is outstanding! Hope it comes out DVD
  4. Then those 80.000 plus fans don't appreciate great music or maybe there is another reason-politics or... At Umass at least 1/2 the crowd stays for the post game show How can you not enjoy the show Umass puts on with its 350 plus members This website has some tough critics indeed
  5. TIME OUT Delaware They are good Anyone from Delaware would even disagree with you(that they are better then Umass) They are still building a great college band program Their director was a student of George Parks, the Umass Director If 100 people saw Umass and Delaware 100 - except you of course-100 would see the difference Umass and Delaware bands travel to each others games to perform They have a good respect for each other But truly...
  6. The seating at the rose Bowl is fair at best The incline of the rows is very little For example say row 30 in Allentown gives you decent elevation Whereas row 30 at the Rose Bowl you are not elevated enogh Also one of the best college marching bands, if not the best is here on the East Coast The University of Massachusettes Minutenman Marching Band Alot of drum corp overlap with staff and members Their newest CD is great Has some classics on it like - Legend of the One Eyed Sailor. Malaguena, Get It On, Birdland, MacArthur Park, God Bless The USA, Tommy(sounds like the Blue Devils - maybe better though) and more. And btheir drumline would fair well against any DCI line They should with memers from the Cadets,Boston, etc Pure entertainment
  7. Do you think Cown would beat the Cadets at least once during the season? Especially early in the season before the Cadets have cleaned their show
  8. Did you listen to the actual cd or the link?
  9. drumcat you see very angry and with an agenda. how do we know what you posted is the same as the cd recording. mmm People need to listen to the cd and not what may or may not be the actual recording. "the truth will set you free"
