  1. I would say that this is a good answer, but for the love of God. TURN THEM DOWN. I could hear them before amps, now ALL we get to hear is the amped pit. Unless your in Lucas Oil, then you get to here this.... WJUDSEBYVWEVHJ^YSWY&GVDZTRVSYBUHGFWAGACK.....
  2. Just don't waste your time by going to the source, ( DCI ). I already did and have gotten no answer at all in over two weeks. Nothing. Not even a " we are working on it". They state that they respond in 8 hours. I guess they missed my email, or its still on its way.
  3. The judges have already spoken out about the sound in the article that had them saying how there was NO SOUND problems at the stadium. They had no problem judging everyone fairly as the sound was FINE. Go back a few pages and you will find their comments. The article appeared shortly after the article by DCI saying how they are working hard to fix the sound problem.......that their judges don't acknowledge.
  4. This is exactly why the powers that be enacted a rule to allow small ensembles to be mic'd. You never really need to mic a brass instrument so why the rule.......... so when woodwinds are voted in they already have a way to mic them out in the pit.
  5. I give you credit for your passion, even when you are being offered an inferior product for higher prices. So I will take you up on going to Lucas a second time if you pay for me. I promise I will go, I just won't pay for it again. Fool me once shame on you, but I don't give you the second chance. I can wait for DCI to move in 8 years if DCI is still around and without woodwinds, then I will go, if DCI isn't around anymore due to their foolish 10 year commitments, then that is survival of the fittest and I will find a different avenue to be entertained by. Hope to see it flourish without my money, but I won't help in this losing cause.
  6. OK, so its been over 8 days without a reply. Nice job with your fans DCI. You know, you could have easily replied, " We are currently working this situation out", and that would have sufficed. But NOTHING?????????
  7. You don't get the point. Drum corps would BE dead, it would then be nothing more than another band circuit. What is the ONLY thing keeping drum corps form being band?????
  8. OK, I will play nice in this question. I think that the usage of synths was good last year. I didn't want them and didn't like to see them voted in, but the usage was good overall. I think Teal did a great job and Spirit fought through a lot of bad publicity and did what they wanted. I give them alot of credit for that. The only true downfall I heard was all the fake horn parts being doubled. As if the fan is too stupid to tell. Why would a judge give a hornline any kind of good score with fake horns. Overall a well done useage all around with synths.
  9. Then I definitly won't be going now. That stinks. Maybe I will do Atlanta.
  10. I emailed DCI directly with the question of when this show will happen so I can make vacation arrangements and 72 hours later I still have no inmail from them. I think they say they get back in 8. Guess my family won't be heading that way this year. Thanks for your speed in response DCI.
  11. Before getting overexcited, read the rest of the posts and note that it was already addressed and very well put to bed. The only ignorance in it was someone spouting off before reading the whole argument amd keeping a mistatement alive......... dude.
  12. I have seen your shows many times over and you never marched. You ran, but I don't remember marching going on. As for the horns. I couldn't tell as you guys were moving to fast for me to make out what you were or weren't carrying.
  13. I may be wrong (and you will certainly know), but don't you need a horn prior to needing a valve?
  14. I would venture a guess in that it is the cost of doing so. They want a certain corps ( usually a top one) and if they can't have that, they keep their money for other things?
  15. This is known as a chat room, where people chat and express differing opinions. That is the point of arguing this, expression of opinions. We know or I should say feel, that the directors of corps and DCI itself could care less what we think. It is evident every time they do anything. The customer is never brought into the discussion. They are just expected to swallow the changes put forth and LIKE IT. Then you get some directors, one in particular who contemplates quite extensively, " what is wrong with drum corps today", but doesn't see the forest through the trees, and doesn't look in the direction of the forest when shown by the fans who live there. If no one argued over anything, this would be a really boring chatroom. IMO.
  16. But that doesn't matter cause we all know it has been said many times by one person who knows EVERYTHING EVERY corps has ever thought or felt, that it is good even if it killed off those that couldn't afford change mandated by those that either got free horns or heavily discounted horns. All change is great no matter how many corps disappear as a result. He knows...........
  17. No corps should be at less than 150. Weren't we all told of the hundreds of members corps were turning away? Wasn't that why they went to 150? A corps like Phantom will have no problem finding what they need by the time they need it.
  18. Yes they are. Its a state law, swear to God it is, look it up.... 1.00 to Donnie Baker
  19. This can't possibly be true. Its already been stated on here by someone who personally knows that no rule has ever done anything but benefit EVERY corps. Its a done deal, get with the program.
  20. Actually a size rule change cost some lower placing corps members, so that in itself hurt that corps. Corps that did not change their horns to everyone elses specs, hurt that corps. There is more, but I don't think that anyone would believe it because it has been said that no rule ever hurt any corps, so it must be.
  21. I don't believe that you will still have a top twelve if all corps can march any number they want as there are only so many members available. You may have a top 8. Tell me that BD and Garfield march 200, where do you think those extra 50 are coming from? It is already evident in corps size with the recent shift to 150. The top 6-8 may have that number but the rest can't field a full corps anymore. Why?
  22. Sarcasm was intended to respond to anyone who thinks they can speak personally for every single corps out there, that every rule has benefited them. Had that person stated, "IMO" then thier point is taken as it should be, (edited so as not to offend anyone), but to pretend to know personally that every corps benefits from every rule change is just plain arrogant( for those that think that way). I can't say anyone is wrong, because I don't speak for all corps like some people think they do.
  23. I still say BENEFICIAL to EVERY CORPS? Edited because it offended someone.
  24. They have? Beneficial to EVERY corps? Really? Your optimism is really way out there. Edited because it offended someone.
