  1. Thanks. We have a full battery this year and they have been working really hard! This is the best Shenandoah Sound battery we've had in my four years with the corps. Our pit's looking good too, although we could use another person or two to fill out some mallet parts...it's not too late to join!
  2. The Shenandoah Sound drumline has been invited to perform April 23 at the Old Towne Manassas Spring Cleaning Day. The drumline will perform at 1pm at the Harris Paviliion. If you are in the Manassas Area, go check them out! The entire corps will perform May 21 at the WV Strawberry Festival parade in Buckhannon, WV. The next full corps rehearsal will be April 29/May 1 at Manassas Park High School. We are still looking for a few more brass, guard, and pit members. www.ShenandoahSound.org for more information.
  3. Shenandoah Sound is still in G. Most members have 2-v horns while some of us play 3-v.
  4. Shenandoah Sound will hold its first April rehearsal weekend starting tomorrow at Manassas Park High School. The corps will review drill from last camp and continue to work on music on Saturday. On Sunday, the corps will learn new drill! There is still time to join the ONLY drum corps in Virginia! Email/message me for more info. facebook.com/shenandoahsound shenandoahsound.org
  5. Shenandoah Sound had a great weekend of rehearsal in Manassas Park, VA! We learned our entire opener (I've Got Rhythm) and put it on the field. In two weeks, we'll put our second tune on the field with drill! Things are coming along. We could still use more brass and guard-come on, you know you want to! Email/message me for more information. 6. We'll be there too! This will be our second year at the parade!
  7. On behalf of Shenandoah Sound, I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to Dick Pomerleau! He turns today
  8. Shenandoah Sound's first public performance of 2011 will be tomorrow at the Alexandria, VA St. Patrick's Day Parade. We have marched at this parade for several years and we are excited to return. This is a huge parade and we always have a lot of fun. Our next rehearsal will be Sunday March 6 from 10-4 at Manassas Park HS. Email me for more info: PR@ShenandoahSound.org Facebook.com/shenandoahsound
  9. Thanks. Our next rehearsal is this Sunday from 10-5 at Manassas Park HS in Manassas Park, VA.
  10. Shenandoah Sound Drum & Bugle Corps is pleased to announce its 2011 field show: "Crazy for You" featuring the music of George Gershwin. Selections for this year's show include "I Got Rhythm," "Embraceable You," "Slap That Bass," "They Can't Take That Away from Me," and "Someone to Watch Over Me." The show was revealed to the corps' members at Shenandoah Sound's open house in Janurary 9 where the members read the opener, "I Got Rhythm." The next rehearsal for Virginia's only drum corps is Janurary 23 from 10-5 at Manassas Park High School. For a complete schedule of events, please see the BRAND NEW www.ShenandoahSound.org
  11. I'm hoping the "late" open house will help our retention, but having an open house in December and then taking a month off for the holidays doesn't make much sense. We figured wait until the new year after all of the craziness and have the open house.
  12. I'm a little late in posting a camp report, but I'm very happy to share some information about our Open House! We had our 2011 Open House this past Sunday, Jan 9 at Manassas Park High School in Manassas Park, Virginia. I'm thrilled to tell DCP world that we had a full battery made up of mostly new faces! We also had a good showing in color guard and brass. In past years, color guard has been our smallest section, but it looks like we'll have a solid, Class A sized guard. We also had some new faces in the brass line. I know everyone wants numbers...I would say we had about 35 folks show up to Open House. There were a few veteran members who were unable to attend (family issues, military formation, etc.), and there were perspective members who could not make the trip last weekend, so we are looking at a pretty solid corps numbers wise. The brass and drumlins played through the opener. Which brings me to our show.. We proudly announced that this year we will be playing music from "Crazy for You" featuring music by George Gershwin. Our opener is "I Got Rhythm." It is a fast-paced, fun opener. We'll also be playing "Slap that Bass" among other catchy tunes. There is still room for YOU to join Virginia's only drum corps. Message or email me for more information or check out our NEW website, www.ShenandoahSound.org
  13. Shenandoah Sound has a new, updated website! Our web address is still www.ShenandoahSound.org Check it out! Don't forget- Our 2011 Open House is this Sunday, from 10-5 at Manassas Park HS. Message or email me for more information.
  14. In one week (Jan 8), returning members of Shenandoah Sound will gather in Manassas Park, Virginia to have a good time and prepare for the corps' 2011 open house! The veteran members will get a head start on rehearsal and get a sneak peak at the 2011 show (I know what it is ). The next day, Jan 9, new and prospective members will converge on Manassas Park High School and join last year's members for the 2011 Open House! I am inviting all DCPers in Northern Virginia and Suburban DC to join us on the 9th starting at 10am at MPHS for our open house. We are your local drum corps! Please email (PR@ShenandoahSound.org) for more information!
  15. Shenandoah Sound's Open House is so close! Jan 9 from 10-4 in Manassas Park, VA! We are closer than you think!
  16. For folks in Prince William County, VA, check your News & Messenger newspaper on Monday for the first of many Shenandoah Sound announcements regarding our corps' activities this season.
  17. I'll tell you this: It'll be entertaining! DCA doesn't have to tell Shenandoah Sound to be entertaining-it's what we do! As our South Pacific show proved, the little Virginia corps can put on quite a show for the paying customers!
  18. We're less than one month away from the return of Virginia's only drum corps: Shenandoah Sound!! Our 2011 Open House is Jan 9 at Manassas Park High School in Manassas Park, Virginia. I know what the show is for 2011, but I'm not telling...you'll have to come hear it for yourself Shenandoah Sound is the only drum corps within three hours of Washington DC. We are conviently located in Northern Virginia (Manassas Park-an enclave of Prince William County). Please email me at PR@ShenandoahSound.org for more information, or see our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=28628387674
  19. Do you have to be a paying member of Fan Network to download this?
  20. Almost!! NEWS: Slight change to our Open House schedule!! The Open House date is now Jan 9 (not the 8th). There is an all-county band event on the 8th that we want to avoid. So, Jan 9, 2011 at Manassas Park High School. I will be updating our Facebook group and Twitter information when I get home from work.
