Crossmen's COOKIE SALAD! The cooks would grab every kind of cookie packages they could find in the store, then dump them in this huge bowl. It was a favorite treat for us after a show.....great with Milk!

The snare standing behind the girl DM and guy to her right is D. Snead.....he went to Spirit in 1980.

I'm glad to see there were other corps too who had to push their buses. I used to get embarrassed when our guys had to get out and push the pigs down the street.

Yep, that was 1979 and your bus driven by our corps director came to rescue us in the desert. We were all sitting in some small diner waiting to order when we saw a Blue Devils bus roll up. He took us to the show's parking lot where SCV had cooked us something to eat. Good thing not many of us ate from that diner, a couple of the kids got food poisoning from eating there. I do think that summer we all learned an important lesson......putting the competitive part aside and help your neighbor. There is rumor that one of our buses was taken over by some Indian tribe and turned into a road side diner. I wonder if they called it BONES?! :P

Yep....DPEmerald that picture of Patty posing is one of many that were taken that year. They used one of another rifle member on the program cover of a drum corps show. I'll have to dig it up and scan it. Keep 'em coming!

No Rob in the yearbook (drumline) except for Robbie. What did Bill Patrick , Doug McComsey or Tom Conti play in the drumline?

Maybe he was a base drummer......he was from SC....had a thick Southern accent.

Yes, looking in my 1980 year book and it says, Mark Aviles from Kings Park, NY. I knew a bunch went to BD during '81-82 but I had no idea Mark went too.

Thank you so much for these! Those snare shells with the Maltese Cross was painted by one of the hornline members. He was very talented and even designed some of our T-Shirts that year.

Nope.....George aged out in '78.

I'm still waiting (very patiently mind you) for some more Crossmen '79-'81. :P
