  1. Well, only a 100 member pep band will be going, anyways.
  2. Move BD up to #1 and I'd be a happy camper! lol Go BD! Geaux Tigers!
  3. I was really looking forward to seeing the Blue Devils Live this year, but the only show I can make, the Baton Rouge show, was rained out so all I got to see was a standstill. Don't get me wrong, just hearing them live was awesome, but I really was looking forward to all the cool visual things I was hearing about. No matter how many times I see a recording, it can't even compare to seeing a show live. So I was wondering, how does the Cinema Live event rank compared to dvd recordings and seeing it live. Is it better than recording and at least "somewhat close" to the real thing? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, From a young BD fan in Louisiana
  4. I don't think there was raining there earlier, but there might have. I don't know, I live about an hour east of Baton Rouge. It may just be the field. It is only a temporary location for this show since LSU's Tiger Stadium has been having renovations. I think it will move back next year since renovations should be done soon. By the way, I got to see Crossmen's show this year (since they performed before the five minute light rain the apparently made the field not ideal), and I loved it. It was very entertaining and the crowd loved it as well. Everyone laughed at the radio sequence with "my humps." Question, does a few minutes of light rain really affect the field that much? Everyone was surprised when they decided to do a stand still since we didn't think it rained enough to really affect the field. I was really disappointed about not seeing BD (who sounded phenomenal during their stand still performance!). But I guess that there really must have been good reason to call a rain out since I doubt they all wanted to cancel the shows.
  5. I am young and have different tastes in drum corps and different reasons that have attracted me to the blue devils. That being said, my all time favorite show happens to be last year. I really liked the concept and the tune at the very end of their finals performance is one I can't get out of my head. PLus, I like that this show seems to be one that "normal" people really like and is the type of show that would attract "normal" people to the activity (like my non-band friends from school). It is the type of show that seems to change their mind about marching band being "dorky." (Yes, I know marching band and drum corps are different, but to "normal" people they are one in the same.) After that one, I would have to say 03. Loved the music of this one and can't get it out of my head either. Then I would say 04. I liked the whole theme and thought everything went well together to sell the whole idea. And then after that I would say 96 then 2000. I mainly love Blue Devils and the above shows for the music in them. I like that I can listen to recordings and still enjoy them without having to see visuals like with some of the other corps.
  6. I have also read some reviews that said the exact opposite. Heck, I read one where the guy thought it was one of the coolest openers he has seen in a long time due to the "silent drill" (after hearing the silent parts on the preseason CD I can only imagine how cool this might be and am excited about seeing the show soon).
