  1. I know there's a joke in here ... Moderate Stress-Induced Social Bonding and Oxytocin Signaling are Disrupted by Predator Odor in Male Rats ... " Rats were restrained in Decapicone bags (Braintree Scientific, Braintree, MA) and cagemates were placed together in a cage inside a fume hood (0900–1200 hours). For the immobilization+fox urine and immobilization+peppermint groups, a cotton ball infused with 1 ml of fox urine or peppermint extract was placed in the cage. Fox urine was used in a separate hood in a separate room from peppermint. After immobilization, cagemates were both returned to their home cage at the same time. "
  2. I support the upgrade. I have never seen a benefit in the exclusion. I do not understand the comments about 18 year old males wanting "a unique experience" with men. Really? I don't remember everything about being an 18 year old male but I do remember how enriching it was to be involved in youth organizations that involved young women. I suspect it will be both good for the organization and the personal growth of the kids who take part.
  3. Same gyro initiation for me. Pretty exotic food given my Wisconsin upbringing. I went though a Swampwater phase - oh boy. I was a Plaza Bar devotee in the early 80's. Plaza Burgers while listening to Make the Knife. The good life.
  4. Hello, I can't make it to finals so I'm offering 2 sets of tickets for QF, SF, and Finals. Six tickets in all. These are great seats! I've been to the Rose Bowl and know that you need to sit in the high number rows since the rake of the stadium is shallow. These 6 high Super Premium seats are together at about the 45 yard line. Section 18, Row 60, Seats 18 & 19. Sixty is about 17 rows from the top. Go to this link to get an idea of where the seats are located: http://www.tickco.com/choose_seats/football/Rose_Bowl.htm I am offering these tickets for face value, $500, plus the cost of Fed Ex. I can overnight them or you can choose a slower route. Let me know if you are interested. Craig
  5. All great choices. Fantastic to see John in there. I was hoping for that.
  6. Nice pics. About a month ago, very old friend of mine who ownes Drums & Moore in Madison said I should stop by sometime and takes a lesson from a champion/ex-BLAST snare drummer who teaches at his store. So I said "Great, next time I'm in town ..." I was quite excited. That drummer was Jeff. So now I would imagine he will be a too busy. Ah well, with every good comes some bad
  7. Jeff Sauer, the retired U of Wisc hockey coach. He's on the Madison Youth Performing Arts Foundation Board. He'll bring back the "power play." Speaking of college hockey, the UW won both the Men's and Women's NCAA hockey championships this year.
  8. Jerry Springer?!!! Well, he'll certainly encourage an in-our-face approach.
  9. I forgot about rows a-k (marimba resonator level seating).
  10. Again, it's not about getting more people to attend; it's about a stadium's ability to accommodate. At Madison, for example, you would have had to sit on the 1-yard line, in the end zones, or on the opposite side to get a seat at finals. How could anyone be expected to pay for such seats? I believe, because of the configuration of the Rose Bowl, max attendance will be less than Madison, not because of interest but because the RB has 77 rows while Camp Randall has 70. But, CR has an upper deck with another 30 or so rows. If the RB holds 90K and seating is naturally restricted between the 5-yards lines, how many will the RB hold?
  11. The CD recordings are NOT bad this year. They're fine. Some loud pits (percussion keyboards especially) but isn't that always the case? I am enjoying them. Buy them today.
  12. Right. Probably more like 30-35% (assume 5 yrd - 5 yrd). It depends upon the design of course. Upper decks make a difference. Some stadium really pile up the seats in the end zone. As for Lucus oil facility, its seating capacity is 63K . It has some decks (see lower right of pdf file) though the rake of the seating doesn't seem that great (the higher the angle the better I believe). I wonder how much of that 63K is DC usable? I hoope DCI knows that answer. Check out this pdf file of the stadium and zoom in. Large seats (20" wide) for the ever expanding American. Lucas Oil Stadium
  13. Gibbs: First year was 1974 Clarence Beebe - 29 years. Scott Stewart - 25 years
  14. "In Madison, the Division I Quarterfinals crowd reached 8,871, with Semifinals topping out at 14,624; which is more than 2,000 higher than any Semifinals crowd dating as far back as 1999. This year’s Finals crowd at 21,232 is right in between those of the last two years, higher than Foxboro, Mass. (20,542), but slightly lower than the 2004 World Championships in Denver (22,047). Combined attendance over four days of Division II & III events, totaling 4,190, is the most recorded at a World Championships in more than 10 years. " Camp Randall seats just over 80,000 people. The stand looked more full for the three days then they did the previous two times finals were in Madison. 21K seems very light as my view on finals night saw the stand pretty much packed from 5 to 5. I wonder how far towards the goal lines they actually sell tickets? While the Rose Bowl seats 90K, it does not have an upper deck and therefore, I would suppose, will seat fewer for finals. I'll be there to find out. Today, I think finals attendance is limited by the stadium not the interest.
  15. ... and the easy off boots with dangling tassels to catch the eye!

  17. I saw Elvord at the Stadium bar in Madison after the Alumni show. He looks almost as young as the first time he yelled at me in the Scout's Jr. Corp. A Madison original.
