  1. Did someone say "idiot"? Well...here I am. I decided I must post at least once to this thread just to get in N.E. Brigand's count. I might even post a couple more times to move up the chart.
  2. Marc Whitlock to the Troopers as a consultant: You have to scroll to the bottom. http://troopersdrumcorps.org/page/aboutus/educational-team/program-and-staff-consultant
  3. I apologize. I have been very busy the past few days preparing for the "World Series of Pinochle" here at the home. I was really ticked as they slotted (yes slotting does happen outside DCI) me as a 12th seed in the brackets. But the bright side is that means I just have to dispose of the top seeds early on. Anyhow...I went to the Troopers page this morning and it looks like I'm back on my game as the news breaker: The Troopers have announced Danielle Schweiger as the Color Guard Caption Head.
  4. Can you (or someone else) explain to me what the difference is between his role with SCV and his role with the Troopers? Is it one of proximity? Does he tour with Santa Clara?
  5. Maybe Noah can pull some strings and KC and his band can play the preshow at finals: SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE! Shake your booty! Play That Funky Music, White Boy! Caution! Do not let yourself get sucked in by KC's smooth groove and watch more than about 30 seconds of this video. P.S. When you watch this it's possible you are watching the future of drum corps, from guard work, to brass, to lights and electronics!
  6. The Troopers have added another member to the 2013 Team. Take a look at their site: TroopersDrumCorps.org Does anyone know anything about Noah?
  7. Apparently his title is not 'Drill Designer', but 'Visual Designer'. Can someone tell me what the difference is? Is a Visual Designer just broader in that he directs small details like guard uniforms and bigger details like the drill?
  8. From the Troopers website: "The Troopers welcome Andy Ebert as the 2013 Drill Designer." Troopers Website
  9. Also, in case I'm being misunderstood, I have the utmost respect for one of the greatest teams the Troopers had ever assembled...although I would have much rather they chose Paul Anka over Bon Jovi.
  10. Oh...do you think I have issues with drugs and gang warfare? Not at all. Everybody here in the home loves drugs and we're all part of some gang. I happen to belong to the Quilts and our colors are many. I feel like I'm being called out, so let me just admit that I was always jealous of BJ's hair (and to avoid rumors, it's the hair on his head that I was jealous of).
  11. I admire your attempt to justify ANY Bon Jovi in any show.
  12. Whoever finished last. --Okay, I admit it. That was a stupid response to a serious question, but I've got to start posting quippy little replies if I'm ever going to get to 1,000 posts
  13. Anytime your staff includes Bon Jovi song in the repertoire, it's time to clean house.
  14. Their website underneath the announcements say: "Stay tuned for exciting announcements in the upcoming weeks about those who are joining the Trooper family!"
  15. The Troopers have announced another addition to their program team, so I thought it was time to start a thread dedicated to the 2013 Troopers. (I admit that I'm a little jealous of the Scouts and Regiment threads that run on for a gazillion pages.) I am so excited about the direction it appears the Troopers are going. They could have curled up in a little ball in the corner and sucked their thumb after last year. Instead, it looks like the leadership stiffened their spine and are developing some really great relationships! For any young person thinking about marching in 2013, it looks like it will be a great year for the Troopers! Here's the Announcement!
  16. Yeah, just one minor difference: Didn't Janet's come out the top of her shirt? And, frankly...while you think we might be a little too old I think we still got it. The fact that I'm boney and you're "fluffy" would actually add to our G.E. score because of the contrast--kinda like Angels and Demons.
  17. Ummm. That was a very colorful way to describe that video. P.S. I wonder if they'd let a boney old woman like me put on one of those little getups and do some of that dancin' with them? I think I'd fit right in. Maybe next time you go to one of those shows Mr. Boo you could get me in? Heck, maybe you could put one on too and we could show them some of our moves.
  18. I don't want to hijack this thread, but in reading up on Donnie, I found an article in DCW with this interesting quote from 2 years ago. This kind of philosophy gets me excited about the 2013 Troopers.
  19. Here is the link to the announcement (they also have a big graphic on the home page): Trooper Announcement
  20. The scuttlebutt is that Fred Morris is going to write both the drill and head up the color guard and that Mike Ottoes (the executive director) is going to be the percussion head. I'm not sure who is going to be the brass caption head, but I've heard that the man who drives the souvenir truck has volunteered--but I personally hope that one of the board members steps up and gives it a shot. I can feel the winds of change a blowin'!
  21. Very interesting on Troopers website: http://troopersdrumcorps.org/page/aboutus/educational-team
  22. TAKE IT TO THE BEACH SUNCOOOOAST! Mr. Skajerk, Thanks for posting those clips. I loved their 1985 show!
