  1. Thanks! Umm, I don't have a mouthpiece either right now. Should I look into getting/borrowing one or will there be any available at the December camp?
  2. Is there any camp RSVP form that we need to fill out to say that we are coming?
  3. I'm a little confused. Are there auditions in Michigan and auditions in Wisconsin on the same day? The schedule on the Pioneer website says there are one-day auditions on the 22nd in Cudahy.
  4. Thanks for the advice, but I'm not a true brass player anyhow, and I still haven't made the complete switch from WW to brass.
  5. Oh, the Colts is a corps I want to audition for next season. Too bad I don't play tuba or trumpet and therefore would be of no help.
  6. I have to admit that even though its hard to look at a simple peice of music and not be able to sight-read it like I can easily on clarinet, it's just way more fun to play brass.
  7. This is probably a really stupid question, but how many octaves are low brass supposed to be able to play? Is it around 2? And from what note to what note (on average)? My lack of brass knowledge is showing.
  8. Anyone know where individual corps are rehearsing before the show?
  9. Thought I might update after 8 months..I stuck with my WW instrument for the school year because I enjoy playing WW and it was an audition band so I couldn't switch instruments in the middle of the year. I am going to play euph for marching band this fall though, and just started practicing this weekend. I want to save money by teaching myself how to play but I'm not sure how successful this'll be. Any tips from anyone?
  10. Ithaca, NY. If you're looking to pursue music and something else, doesn't Ithaca offer a major called Music in Combination with Another Field?
  11. Because I think this will spark discussion, list your top 10 reasons to march drum corps and why.
  12. Quick question...Is baritone music for drum corps usually in treble clef or bass clef?
  13. Hmm, I tried replying and it didn't work, let's see if this one does. Cavaliers are in Rosemont while Phantom is in Rockford, so it really depends where you live. The chicago suburb that I live in is closer to Cavaliers. Both are manageable drives-for me personally I think its about 45 minutes and 1 1/2 hour.
