Now that the 2007 DCA season has come to a close and we are all home from the past weekend at Paetec Park, what can be said about Mother Nature and her enthusiasm for attending the show in all her glory. Could we have ordered a better weekend of weather? But the weather is just the beginning of our memories of the 2007 championship weekend.
I just want to say congratulations to our Class A champs, The Sunrisers and to our Open Class champs, The Buccaneers for their superb performances. And to the remaining 11 corps, kudos to you too for some outstanding performances and determination to catch one of those winners.....you almost made it. But the one thing you did do was put on an incredible show for an almost sold out audience.
As my rookie season comes to a close, I want to thank everyone on the DCA board, especially Dick E., the Paetec Park event staff, Allen Buell and his local committee, the kids from Medina High School, my special friend Joe from Erie T-Birds, and everyone else on the field for helping to make my job such an easy transition. Not knowing what to expect, I found an exhausting weekend turned into a smooth, fun, and exciting one with all their help. I met tons of new "family", saw old familar faces, and got to see a lot of smiles as each corps passed by me taking the field for their final show of the season.
But what I don't know is....did our fans enjoy the show as much as I did? As the new PR director for DCA, I am always looking to find ways to make my job better and when I make it better, it benefits all our fans. So, I would love to here from you on what you thought of the 2007 championship show? Did we do good, and if we can improve something, what is it that we can make better? Your feedback will help give us ideas on how we can make the 2008 show even better.
I look forward to hearing from you and getting some great suggestions to work with. Hope you had a great time in Rochester.
