  9. I for one, had a great time at the show saturday night. I really liked the fact that after the shows all the corps were in a holding area making it possible for me to chat with a friend that is in the bucs. Its funny how people switch corps though out the years, making all corps family in a way. My only complaint is that i had to push my xylophone up a hill then down a hill....geesh...then the same going back. Im getting too old for that... Great Weather+Great Friends=Great Drum Corp
  10. I bought this marimba new 4 months ago and it has been sitting in my living room and used for practice. Asking $3000.00 I drive up to Rochester NY every weekend so i can deliver along the way.

  13. Hey gary......what about lake erie thunder?????
  14. Heard synths tonight for the first time. Out of 6 corps.....only crown used them well. All the rest including cadets....the synths took away from the performence on the field. Maybe it will get better as the season goes along....i will reserve my judgment until then.
  15. ">The this vibraphone was used for the 2007 and 2008 season by the Bluestars Drum and Bugle Corp. It is in good used condition with no problems. Asking price $2500.00 Adams CV-2F is a motor-less Concert Vibraphone designed specifically for the grueling demands of outdoor field percussion...but its also perfectly at home indoors on the concert stage. The CV-2F features a 3 octave range, with precision graduated Adams aluminum alloy, nickel anodized bars. It produces a beautiful tone of unmatched quality, perfectly balanced throughout the entire range. The CV-2F also features an advanced, foot operated precision dampening mechanism, offering full pedal tension, damper, and height adjustments, allowing each player to custom configure the feel of the instrument to their exact playing style. The damper also utilizes a new supreme quality felt material to achieve true silent damping. All resonator tubes on the CV-2F are welded to eliminate all unwanted noises, and they are beautifully finished with a durable grey powder coat. Transportation on and off the field is simplified due to the extremely sturdy Adams Endurance Field Frame. The Endurance Frame features oversized 200mm wheels that can easily navigate any grass, turf or parking lot surfaces, and its large square tube construction is built for the extreme demands of highly competitive outdoor use. Both ends are fully height adjustable using the Adams precision adjustment system, and an accessory rail runs the full length of the instrument. The accessory rail is a perfect place to add cymbals, drums, bells, or practically any variety of different percussion instruments that can be used to greatly enhance your choice of performance options and available sounds. NO MOTOR, 3.0 Octave Vibraphone w/Endurance Field Frame: Bars: Aluminum Alloy-nickel anodized finish. Graduating from 57-38 mm Pitch: A=442 Hz. 17. Yeah!!!!!!! i finally got someone to ride up to eire with me!!!!! No more driving alone...Brenda will be comming with me......guess i will not be able to pee in a bottle if i need too,.......hehe
  18. Wow.......sounded like some anger in that statement. I was simply trying to answer in my opinion, the question raised at the begining of the thread. Why isn't there a competitive DCA corp in the Tri-State Area. This in no way was a slam against DCA or any corp that competes in DCA. I marched with Tradition last year.........loved it.......spent an insain about of money buying front ensemble instruments.......bought a bus to transport the instruments........put alot of time and energy into writing the front ensemble music, conducting practices, cordinating travel to both practices and performences and talked to alot of people about going down to cincinnati with me. And the biggest hurdle was.......NO ONE WANTED TO TRAVEL THE DISTANCE. It is a weekend activity and traveling 6 to 8 hours just to compete was just too hard for me to sell. So I feel that my opinion is some merrit. As far as starting a corp........there is a DCA corp in the tri-state area and we performed in 5 DCI shows last year. So from what i have seen first hand....... its just too expensive to travel to be a Competive DCA corp from this area which is what i thought this thread was about.
  19. Sunday was a great time.....it was nice to have the whole gym for practice. The sops really are sounding wonderful and in tune.......... cant wait to get outside and put it on the field.
  20. Has anyone considered the fact that the tri state area is on the fringe of all three circuts? If Cincinnati Tradition wanted to compete against a dca corp we would have to travel the farthest to DCA east, DCA south or DCA Midwest.
  21. I have to agree with you. I think there would be more interest in this area if there were a DCA circut in the midwest for the corps to compete in. I know of a lot of people in the central ohio area the are interested in marching drum corps but dont want to travel to the east coast to compete. Sure its fun to do exibitions, but after putting in all the effort and money......there needs to be competions to make it rewarding for a corps. Isnt that what drum corps about? With WGI based out of Dayton, There are lots of programs with talented kids in this area. I guess the question is........ Should DCA wait for alot of corps to start in the tri state area before they start a circut.....or should DCA start a circut for corps to develop in?
  22. Hey Shawn.....hook me up with one of the carpools from Ohio will ya???
