I think it's because they're in the awkward 8 spot, where they're much higher than 9, and lower than 7. Kinda it's own little scoring purgatory.

It's a long shot here, but does anyone know where the Cadets will be staying while in the Portland, OR area? I badly want to go listen to them because I refuse to wait all the way to next Thursday to get my first live drum corps fix of the year. :P

I don't know about that moment, but it reminds me of the 1996 Phantom Regiment show where the head conductor was all out crying at the end while conducting the final 20 seconds or so. It was awesome to see.

I believe in the Cadets playing beautiful music at "P*** your pants loud" volumes. b**bs

I personally think that Frameworks is a more technically outstanding show, whereas The Zone is more centered around GE (IMO). I absolutely loved The Zone, but Frameworks, although performed amazingly, kinda bores me in terms of music. It's even weirder though, because I was at finals in 2005, and I never personally felt a vibe from the crowd that The Zone was something special. However, after watching dvd's from 2002 and talking to people that were there, it seems that at the end of Frameworks, people knew that they'd just seen something special. Overall, I think Frameworks will stand the test of time better, especially on this forum seeing as how it's a very "pro-cavie" vibe around here.
