  1. Yeah well the scores in Houston and Dallas had an effect on San Antonio's order... that didn't matter much now did it?
  2. Maybe it is because Troopers went on early and got a conservative score (like early performing corps often do) and when the Colts went on later the judges felt that troopers were still better.... that is why their scores went down. If anything, troop has been getting the shaft b having to go on so early at shows. Tonight they went on second tonight (after Jersey Surf and before Pacific Crest) and still beat the colts... not tomorrow though....
  3. Yeah because I am not being one People's scores go down or stagnate all the time.. you have to look at the season as a whole. I could break alot of this down for you (and have on other threads to a certain extent), but I doubt you would get it (because you didn't before). I will state something ver simple that I hope you will be able to understand though: Look at the scores this week since San Antonio.... Colts score from San Antonio went UP from 79.1 to an 80.2... That is an increase of 1.2 so far this week Troopers score also went UP from a 79.6 to an 80.35... That is an increase of .75 so far this week So who is getting the shaft now?
  4. Stop being such a baby. Scores becoming stagnate happens to corps all the time. You weren't complaining when they were in 12th... now that they are in 13th you are crying foul. Judges are not looking for a reason to give it to anyone and they are not looking for a reason to give anyone the shaft. YOU are simply looking for a reason to complain because your team is not where you think they should be.
  5. Not any more though. It is usually the second to the last performing corps (unless otherwise sanctioned by the show coordinator).
  6. 1.86 from 13th. almost 3 points from 12th
  7. Yes that is correct. It can also happen if at the request of the show sponsor too.
  8. That is how it works now. It has to do with logistics. The second to last corps gets to rest and regroup while the last corps is going on and then take the field for the encore right after the last corps performs. Since they do the encore before the scores now the performers need that time to get their energy back. This way you don't have to wait for the last corps to rest and regroup and then do their encore and then do the scores.... it shaves about a half hour off of the evening for everyone involved to do it this way.
  9. Whosever performs second to last.... that will be decided later tonight when they average all the scores... it will probably Cavies again.
  10. Are you saying that Troop doesn't deserve their scores? Troopers went on very early in the show and got an 80.05. The judges felt that they were still better than the Colts when they performed.... hence the score drop. A couple of other things: 1. Troop has been beating Colts in Music AND Visual for quote some time (the last 4 shows at least - Murfreesboro, San Antonio, Houston, & Dallas). 2. The caption that has been keeping colts close to (or beating) troop has been effect. From what I hear, Troop put in a new ending to the show that they debuted tonight. That would explain the jump up in Effect and the drop in Visual Performance and Visual Ensemble. New ending is more effective... but dirty
  11. Not likely... sorry to burst your bubble
  12. Good question. I have no idea. There were some first reads all over the panel for various corps.... They are still trying to figure some things out I am sure
  13. Sure they did... if they were better than the corps that went on before them. Most times going on later is better, but sometimes it can mean a score drop too if a corps that is better goes on early.
  14. Its all about the performance order man... that is what attributed to their score drop tonight. The bad news is this: When they get to a show where troop goes on after them it is likely the spread will widen.
  15. They went on after corps that have been beating them that's how. Troopers and Colts went on before them and the judges scored them conservatively because they did want to "run out of room" later in the event. Madison's score drop is a product of that. Troop went on really early tonight (3rd or 4th I think) and there is no way they were going to pop them a big number with so many corps left to compete. Also, I am willing to bet that there were a lot of first read judges here for a lot of these corps and that usually results in conservative scoring too.
  16. Not quite.... 90-100 Box 5 70-89.9 Box 4 50-69.9 Box 3

  18. Cascades are going to Indy. They are doing a full tour (like most years), the only difference for them is they usually come out a bit later. Public schools and colleges in WA usually get out really late (usually 2nd or 3rd week of June) and they have to spend the first few weeks of the season trying to get the show on their field while other are already out there performing. They are doing 23 shows this year, which is more than some groups in World Class (Jersey Surf and Mandarins) and a lot if you consider that they start almost 3 weeks after everyone else does. Here is their schedule: http://www.dci.org/schedule/?mode=corps&am...fb-b20910df2a39
  19. How is this any different than people bashing the Cadets (or other corps) before the first show of the season? This is a discussion site after all.
  20. The information you see on a drum corps site is not always accurate. You are never going to see a group advertise that they are marching a tiny horn line or that they have 20 holes. The fact that cascades are advertising free tuition to get more people in the horn line means that they are desperate. I know that they had intended to march 49 horns. Then I heard it was 42.. and now I have no idea what their plans are...Either way they will be pretty small.
  21. I think Pioneer has a great shot at finishing out of last place this season. Cascades are going to be really rough this year, so I would be pretty surprised if they beat anybody. With that being said, I think pioneer has zero chance of making semis. It is going to be a bloodbath to make top 17 this year and top 12 is going to be even worse.
  22. Dont worry about it. The west coast tour will be done soon and so will Dan's judging stint this summer
