I'm going to disagree... and I'm a huge Regiment Phan. This is by far the best show I have ever seen. Goosebump city. However... Regiment had nearly two weeks with only three shows and enough time to clean the dirt. They didn't quite get it done. Lines weren't dressed, feet were dirty, etc. I don't think they were a full point behind BD, but I think they were pretty much dead on tonight with the scores. If there is any injustice, it's that Cavies didn't win visual. I really couldn't believe that. I'm going to go on a limb and say the real battle is for 2nd. BD has the title locked up. It's going to be extremely difficult for Regiment to better their visual score tomorrow night... very difficult.

How in the world is me saying that I don't like a show the same thing as bashing it? Did I hurt your feelings? I'm incredibly sorry for pissing off Blue Devil nation, but the 2008 Blue Devils production is not my cup of tea. It doesn't mean I dislike the corps. It doesn't mean I wouldn't support the kids and the organization. I marched with a corps that a lot of people did not like. But I never questioned their opinion. It was nothing more than an opinion. It wasn't a slap in the face. I will never fault the members for marching and playing their ##### off. The talent and determination is incredible. But, IMHO, the vehicle they have this year looks more like Honda than a Rolls. A very nice Honda, but still not a Rolls. That's my opinion... if you don't like, I'm truly sorry. That's your problem, not mine. As for tomorrow night, I wish them the best of luck and a kick ### show! They've worked hard all year and desrve to win as much as anyone.

Curious, where and when did you march?

He has announced almost every DCI Championship with the exception of a few. I have all of those recordings, and I will never, ever get tired of that voice. Mark my word on THAT one. And I think I speak for mamy, many drum corps fans and alumni. There is nothing like standing on the field and hearing Brant say... "On the field, from Sacramento, California... the Freelancers!" (insert your own corps here). When I heard that at my first nationals, I got goosebumps. Side note... I found it interesting when working for Tom Blair and the DCI Broadcast for many years... Brant gets his cue's from the TV Truck. The director in the truck is the one to tell him to start his announcements.

It's clear you don't know much about the history of DCI. I echo everyone's sentiments, Brant is an icon. He has done more for the activity then most of us ever will. He doesn't just announce, he volunteers his time and gives everything of himself and his family to drum corps. I too hope that when we are all good and gone, I can be announced with that wonderful voice. And one more thing... he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet!

Sam, I have always respected your posts and opinions and agree with you more often then not. Your a cool cat, but I have to disagree with you, respectfully. Short of buying off some judges, I don't see that happening. How we see things, and how others see things, are two different stories. You see it as winning, I don't. That's cool, this is not personal. Look, there is NO DOUBT that they are a great corps. There is no doubt that there are those that believe they should be in 1st. And there is no doubt that the kids work their butts off to get to where they are. However, corps don't compete against each other. There is no way for a direct competiton to work. The kids compete against themselves every night. All we can do as fans is offer our opinions, and more often than not, the shows that connect with us are the ones that we root for and hope to win. And this ytear, Regiment has more fans than any of the groups. Last night in the theater I attended, the crowd went nuts for several minutes following Regiments show. After BD was done, there wasn't even an applause. If that doesn't say anything, than I don't know what does. When BD wins tomorrow night, they will be, IMHO, a very underwhelming champion. But that's not becuase they don't deserve the via performance... If they win, I will say congrats and tip my hat. But I just don't like the show... and by the looks of things, niether do a lot of other people. It's not the first time and it won't be the last.

Never said BD sucks, but the show is terribly designed, and the kids aren't selling it. You see things differently as an alumn, and that's fine. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

The Blue Devils are a great corps, but lets call a spade a spade... The Blue Devils are NOT a perfect 20 in visual.. this is a poorly designed show that is performed very well. IMHO, it should NOT be winning. Sorry you don't like that. Just becuase they win, doesn't mean any of us have to like it. Nothing against the kids in the corps, they do a hell of a job.
