  1. I think DCI had it right when they added the third valve. We didn;t need Bb horns, period. Strictly a financial move that will come back to haunt the activity in the not so distant future.
  2. Be held accountable for what? This is ridiculous guys. This is freaking drum corps, not world politics? You guys are starting to sound like the UN, a lot of useless griping. Is drum corps, let it go. Life will go on, I promise.
  3. Jeez, did we all get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning... Just a question, but what does it matter who voted what? Are you really going to lose any sleep over it? I know I won't...*
  4. Why, because they weren't Box 5? Talk about being high on yourselves... some of you need to get a life. Drum corps is NOT the end all be all.Just becuse a group doesn't have the precision of the Cadets or SCV, doesn't mean they are bad. It's friggin marching band people. College marching band at that.
  5. That's a nice shirt... but the Notabando short is still my favorite
  6. Its not the kids fault if they have a poorly designed show. Anyone that works their butts off to try and entertain gets a standing O... They've earned it, and then some!
  7. Hey Turner... how's it gonna feel to say... "Velvet Knights, you may take the field in competition!"
  8. Straight from Dave Gibbs mouth... Blue View is being worked on as we speak. Its possible there will be a show annoucement in there. Sit tight everyone, its coming.
  9. To everyone in VK, good luck to you all and God Bless along the way! Make us all proud! And by the way, that Clint guy, I hear he's ok too! Go get'em Clint! (It's fun to root for guys you marched with... that way when they make it big, you can say "Yeah, marhed in his line!").
  10. Lance, that's great. But I think you've missed my point. Making the effort to promote better costumer service will pay dividends in the future. Sometimes threads are just closed, with no message sent to the person that orginially started the thread explaining how or why. As frustrating as it is for you to have to keep doing this, its frustrating for us seeing our posts dropped and not explained why. And pardon me for saying so (I do this with respect), but there does seem to be a holier than thou attitude by some of the moderators on the boards. For example, your response to me seemed more like a form response rather than a personal response. If you take the time to act like you care, rather than throwing your weight and position of authrotiy around, your credibility would increase two fold and the site image would increase as well. In this day and age, people are sick and tired of stock messages. I understand the need for uniformity, but would it be so much to ask for a few kind words every now and then, rather than someone feeling the need to scold us for being bad boys and girls?
  11. John and Rich: I have no problems with the policy at all. For those of us that like DCP, it would be nice to keep you guys around for a long time. The only issue I have is with how its enforced, namely by a few of the moderators who have done so with a bit of attitude. Customer service is not the forte of some of the moderators, and I think a little more respect for the membership would go a long way. Would it be too much to ask that when a moderator shuts down a post or removes something completely, that a brief, nicely written note be sent to the member explaining why? It doesn't have to be involved, but by doing this and using good customer service, it might help keep some members from going off the wall. Just my two cents.
  12. Legally I believe their might be some rights issues involved, for both the corps and DCP. And that would probably include rehearsal "performances" as well.
  13. Mike, Rich - I can only speak for myself, but I am almost sure that most people don't have a problem with the posting policy. It's very understandable and reasonable people will get why its in place. I think its the way it is handled in a few instances that has turned a few heads. But I digress... I believe I read that a new Blue View is in the works and should be out this week. I am confident that all of our questions will be answered by then.
  14. My apologies... back on topic... the Dev's are always one of the last corps to announce, for whatever reason. After seeing the clip on You Tube yesterday (its been taken off youtube, so don't go looking for it), It sounds like a modernist type jazz show, but then again it was only about 60 seconds worth of the closer. My guess is they are still securing the rights to the video and when that is done, they will make an announcement. I would expect one within the week.
  15. The only thing that is keeping me from adding my two cents in on either issue is the fact that Krista asked us not too... I dig Krista! (Kissing up to the moderators should not be allowed, but shes cuter than Dave so what can I say!) I will say this... some people get a little too power hungry around here and throw their weight around a bit too much. but i don't think I am saying anything that most of us don't already know.
  16. UNTs music program rocks! Funny how many good musicians I now that came from North Texas, including two of my previous band directors...
  17. Mike - great view point. I guess I am just not sure that my drum corps experience would have been any better had we won a championship. I am not sure that would have made any difference to me at all. Not saying that it wouldn't be cool, becuase it would! I am just not sure that it would make the experience for me any better. And you don't want me to write anything for you... I tend to get in trouble when I write things for mass publication, isn't that right Kevin?!?! :D lol
