Another wonderful thing are all the parents that were present watching their child participate, this is a great thing when you are just as excited as your kids. Just wondering about the rumors of Yamato going inactive, they have been taken off DCI's schedule, this is sad open class needs to get stronger, as with all the governments getting together the directors of open class needs to have a summit or we might not have open class. If they are inactive, I hope the kids do not end their drum corps experience.

I really do not know that answer, but for recruitment a corps must use all sources available.

Total kids signed up 84 there are 33 in the hornline 27 regularly showing up to practices, would like 100 kids

The NBA has asked Impulse Drum Line to be a part of this historical game between the Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets. The game will be televised by TNT starting at 7:00pm (western), check your local listings for the game. Impulse is proud to have been asked to perform for this historical game. Edward (Beno) Morris their Entertainment Coordinator says: “This is just expanding our Ent. Group. Last year we started this Entertainment Group playing for the Lakers in the Western Conference finals, we are the official Drum Corps. for the Palm Springs Power baseball team and the 1st Drum Corps. to perform at Six Flags Magic Mountain.” Be sure to check your TV listings this Saturday October 11th, 2008 on TNT for this event. PARENTING THING my kid marches with Impulse, and I will tell you these kids are the nicest kids I have seen in drum corps I marched for 8 years in the CAVALIERS in the 70's-80's I thats when drum corps was drum corps you just have to tell your kid no DRUM CORPS unless you respect all others JUST KIDDING, I am a great CA. parent BENO

HEY LONG TIME AS YOU SEE FROM MY POST I GUESS I AM GETTING TO BE AN OLD MAN AND BEING TO SERIOUS YOU SEE BUT IN THE OLD DAYS IN CAVIES THERE WOULD BE A CORPS FIGHT BENO

I am writing this as an old drum corps alumni and still into drum corps, my son also marches in a drum corps. THIS IS MY PERSONAL OPINON I HOPE THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WITH THE SAME FEELINGS. I was amazed at what the Velvet Knights did at the start of their show, The New Orlean's funeral death march with someone being carried onto the field then a eulogy, to have this person get up and have an IMPULSE hat on, that is not a silly thing or it's not a very good joke, what a bad choice of managment to put that on the field in front of an audience, I have been in drum corps most of my life 1975-1984 marched, and still am affiliated with drum corps. I have never seen a corps be so rude to another corps. WHAT IS GOOD SPORTSMENSHIP, WHAT IS COMPETITION, HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE TREATED IN LIFE, WHAT ARE YOUR VALUES. As adults we must teach our kids some of these values in life (MY OPINION). What kind of values are being taught at Velvet Knights, (ANGER,HATRED,REVENGE,DIS-RESPECT) THE CORPS MANAGEMENT LET THIS HAPPEN. Did Velvet Knights even think of ex-members of IMPULSE, and what about the members of IMPULSE, thank god the kids did not see a bad choice made by some ADULTS, NOTICE I SAID" KIDS" AS A PARENT OR SOMEONE TEACHING VALUES TO YOUR KIDS. this is one of the worst things I have seen happen at a DCI event, as the director of IMPULSE, what do you say to the kids after that, VK JUST NOT A VERY NICE THING TO DO. TO ALL DRUM CORPS, "YOU ALL HAVE KIDS LEARNING ADULT VALUES, THERE MUST BE GOOD CHOICES MADE" THANK YOU EDWARD

Hi Mike Here is a reply do you know that watching DCI on ESPN there was not one remark about Div. II/III kids not even the famous commentators mentioned us no commercials I have to yell at TOM BLAIR for that (MAYBE HE WAS DOING SHARON ON THE STAIRS) :) If you know me now I marched with you and Tom in CAVIES so I'm just giving heck but it is true DCI should put alittle more into these kids I do sound for artist and I feel it almost works the same way I did JANES ADDICTION. THREE DOORS DOWN, INCUBUS, the record companies had 3 different sound systems all the above using 2 of them and then there was AT THE DRIVE-IN, JET and they got what was left over they didn,t sound like JANES ADDICTION but with the $100,000.00 sound system they might have. SO give us some say! BYE the way I'm BENO I hope you remember me SPLOOIE nice to talk to you BENO

You are so correct about the EGOS nothing good will happen until the Adults realize that this is for the kids not therself yes we may be feeding up north to the big boys but if all pulled together and just put A program together that will keep these kids from 3-5 years I am being honest when I look at these corps at shows all the kids are great but there is A difference when IMPULSE comes onto the field. VK no uniforms, GOLD, MYSTAKAL,and others I might not be correct but I think most of the staff has come from IMPULSE for these corps, If So. Cal wants to make it to INDIANA for the next 11 years the adults are going to have to grow up and if DCI does what they did for housing out here there might not be enough housing for all of our little 50 member corps. I do believe if we pooled together we could come up with A Div. 1 corps (DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ACADEMY WHO ALMOST MADE FINALS this year) no little corps taking away from each other So you all think about it NO MORE INSTRUCTORS SAYING IF YOU MARCH IN IMPULSES GUARD YOU CAN'T BE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL GUARD I TEACH. I AM SO SORRY IF I HURT ANYONES FEELINGS BUT THINK OF THE KIDS YOU ARE ALL ADULTS MOST OF YOU HAVE MARCHED AND I DO FEEL THAT IMPULSE WILL BE THE CORPS THAT SURVIVES. BENO
