  1. Glens Falls, NY CYO Tribute ... Quincy, MA ... "Thank-you" Crusaders DCI East - Allentown ... both nights .. hotel room booked last year [2011] FanNetwork: - Minneapolis, MN - San Antonio, TX - Atlanta, GA DCI - Championship - Fan Network - Theater ... Danbury, CT both depend on what DCI comes up with ... Can't make Indy, wish I could ... but ... College: Summer school Final Exams To all the Corps & everyone involved ... "Thank you" for an exciting 2011 ... Can't wait for the 2012 season to begin
  2. Ryan ... Hope everything went well this morning. You continue to be in our prayers. Hang in there! Mr. Coates ... Thank-you for the update. Please keep us posted on Ryan's progress.
  3. Any more reviews of last night's show/preview? ... music / drill / guard ... how everything is integrated? Heading to Allentown Friday night ... looking forward to 2 takes (showing) of each Corps ... Crown, Cavies & Cadets ... with each viewing you pick up different things ... Also hoping for more explanations of each corps show ... things like the pink plumes are for Cancer Awareness make sense.
  4. Thank-you Blue Stars. I enjoyed the clips. Good Luck this season!
  5. Appreciate: - corps performance information - late start time ... 8:03 PM ... working all day in New York (Hudson Valley)
  6. Sat in several levels at LOS for the Championships. Best sound quality and view seemed to be at 600 level ... but caution the angle felt severe around row 12 / Row L. Have only had that feeling (of falling) when I was at Scranton (Lackawanna Stadium) and Yankee Stadium. Took me a while to get used. The place seemed "cavernous" from that level. Have bought tickets for next year, but at a lower price. Highest price tickets were not worth it, sorry DCI. Bought tickets for Allentown, the day they went on sale.
  7. Regarding the souvenir area: 1. It was a 13 minute walk from section 639 (top level around the 40 yard line) to the souvenir area during one break during Quarterfinals. I timed it only because I wanted to know how long I had to walk around in the souvenir area and still get back in time for the next Corps. 2. When bands/quartets played in the souvenir area the noise was deafening. I watched one member of the Cavaliers souvenir group hold up a sign with prices of shirts or something. The Cavaliers were almost diagonally opposite one of these quartet set ups. I also felt sorry for the Madison Scouts who were set up right next to the Cavaliers. 3. Before Semi-finals the place was jammed. Bloomington appeared to have more room. 4. There seemed to be one main entrance down (one aisle for traffic going both up & down) to the souvenir area from the stands ... the other being possibly an elevator. ... This led to occasional jam ups and appeared to border on being a fire hazard. Last comment ... a little off topic ... if you look at the 2008 Quarterfinal tape posted on the DCI Fan network of Phantom Regiment at Bloomington I think you'll see the stands were practically full (the top corners were not). The same could not be said for 2009 Quarters or Semifinals at Lucas. I have purchased tickets (scaled down for next year), and already made hotel reservations (in southern Indianapolis .. by I-495) for the 2010 DCI Championships. I am already looking forward to the Corps. ... but I go with hesitation after this year's experience (many of the gripes posted on this board are legit). Bloomington I loved. Lucas & Indianapolis .. sorry, but I can take it or leave it. I can see Lucas & Indianapolis getting old in three (3) years.
  8. Maybe I'm reading their website wrong ... but Comfort Suites City Centre ... the one visible from Lucas Oil Stadium ... is charging $1,000 per night during next year's DCI Championship. Other hotels downtown charge for parking each night .. on top of the daily room charge.
  9. Appreciate the heads up. I think I may try and make a reservation for next year (2010) when I check out of my hotel this year. Catch ... I know some hotels only allow reservations to be made 51 weeks in advance. I'm going to try it anyways ... they can only say no you have to wait.
  10. This year's DCI Championship practically collides with the public school schedule in central Indiana. DCI - Wed. Aug 5th - Sat. Aug 8th ... DCI Championships Public schools central Indiana - Mon. - Fri. Aug 3rd - 7th ... 1st week of Fall Sports practice (multiple sports & levels) ... some go from 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM ... ... ... Marching Band practice ... some started prior to this week - Wed. Aug. 5th ... Student schedule pick up - Thu. Aug. 6th ... Orientation for new students - Mon. Aug. 10th ... Teachers & Staff report - Wed. Aug. 12th ... 1st day of School - Fri. Aug. 14th ... 1st Varsity football scrimmage Add to this .. some teachers will be in school next week (Aug. 3rd - 7th) getting ready for the 2009-2010 school year Bottom line: We're not the only game in town next week. As many posters have said we need to respectful to our hosts and their hospitality. It's a two way street.
