  1. That would be the 1990 Cadets. I say let's have a 100 person horn line. The rest of the sections can fight for the remaining 50.
  2. I am also a 2v bugle collector, and you are so right. I have been watching ebay for probably 7 or 8 years for 2-valve King horns, and they are few and far between, and they get huge responses when one does come on the market. I have seen exactly TWO K-90's in that time, and I'm thinking they both sold for around $2,000. Enjoy that piece of history you have, because having an original 2v K-90 is better than a 3v, and I think having "BD" on it makes it even more valuable.
  3. The Blue Devils have a DVD called Dynasty of Brass. It is the single most fantastic thing you could own that will help you develop your brass sound, because you can turn it up loud on your home theater and play right along the Blue Devils with their 16 warm-up exercises you hear all the time when they play "in the lot." You can change the audio and have Wayne Downy talk to you over the playing about how to develop a "characteristic sound", or you can play the "trumpets only" audio, or the tubas, mellos, or baris. You get the idea. Plus you can print out the music for the exercises on your laser printer, which includes Space Music, and Bb Tuning (what the old guys call F Tuning, but for Bb instruments). Characteristic sound? Twenty or so DCI high brass trophies tell me Blue Devils have got it, in spades!

    Flugal Bugle.

The King mello is practically unplayed. It was that way when I got it, so I also got a Deg Dynasty II mello to play on so I wouldn't ruin that beautiful King horn. :) Yes, I play all three, and my Deg sop also. It depends on what my mood is. I go through these phases, you know.
  5. Lip slurs, up and down. And pedal tones. Also, don't forget to buzz that mouthpiece every morning before you go to school. If you can do it on the mouthpiece, you can do it on the horn. Now practice, then knock 'em dead in that audition with your beautiful, characteristic sound. :)

    Flugal Bugle.

When Skyriders went out, they sold their King horns. I bought one of their two King French horns (two-valve, of course). It's in fantastic shape. I thought you might like to know.
  7. I'd like to see DCI officially declare a regular season champion, then hold the playoffs as usual with a tournament champion.
  8. In, I'd like to see Star of Indiana, and uh, probably 27th Lancers. There. I think that properly treats this topic in the manner to which it deserves.
  9. That's a terrible idea. I hope nobody helps you, and I hope you don't do it. Who do you think is going to think this is clever? Families of the dead heros?
  10. OK, you win! I've just got a few things: Bunches of T-shirts (not 600! ) Drums Set of quads Pearl competition snare Two sets cymbals BD drum sticks, PR sticks, SCV sticks Bugles (all two-valve) King French horn (owned by Sky Riders) King Mellophone Deg Mellophone Two Deg sops Deg alto King flugal A few 60's era bugles A lot of wonderful memories starting in 1980 and still going strong.
