1. In Memory of Jim.....I miss my best friend....
2. That memorial 200 member hornline played on July 18, 1980...And I will release a recording of that on Jim Ott's 30th anniversary of his passing on July 8,2010...be on the lookout for it on Jim Otts facebook page FANS OF JIM OTT AND HIS HORNLINES http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?g...986&ref=ts..[
3. Well why not just change the description of the Guard to "Dance Squad"and never refer to them as the Guard ..What do they guard now.??...since the descriptions of the hornlines has changed to keep up with the times like the bugle sections Sopranos,Contra to Trumpets and Tubas..just my thoughts on this..
4. Well what do you know,,I took this picture when I was 17 years old and uploaded on my facebook page 42 years later and find it here...This photo was taken in 1967 at San Pablo Calif. for a standstill performance..I was in the Commodores at the time and heard that our corp director Gene Castles loaned Gail Royer $500 dollars towards purchasing some horns...Well I guess it's the best investment the Stockton Commodores ever did...These cats looked so cool in thier suits...
5. I remember Ghost and his dog Shadow , from his Stockton Commodores days..
6. You might also want to apply for the Jim Ott $3,000 dollar annual college scholarship presented at DCI finals by S.O.M.E. Sponsors of Musical Inrichment Inc... download application online at http://www.someinc.com/id1.html Good luck...
7. Agree with Jocko...Parker Silva...A man who deserves this honor while we still have him around...
8. Simple..You can use Pinnacle movie software to edit/delete audio then you add new audio from a Cd and sync to the movie and then burn a new master copy ....about $80 dollars...
9. 1980 Spirit of Atlanta... At DCI Finalsw hen they parked and blowed in memory of Jim Ott...
10. This is FANTASTIC that Jim's music will be saved and shared with many in the drum corps world...There is a video tribute to Jim on youtube from the Ott family collection of home movies and photographs that I took of Jim in our teen years before he became famous. . Jim would come to our house so he could arrange music using my piano at the age of 15. In the youtube video you can see Jim conductiing the Commodores during the concert portion of our show of his arrangment of "Georgie Girl" and other clips of Jim with Bonnie and family. Enjoy..
