OK ... So everyone knows the deal. We have moved into a new facility and our phone provider AT&T could not move our old number. Something about ports, etc. I don't pretend to understand what is going on with them. At any rate we have a new phone number that is printed on our website (502) 409-5595, we have had this number since October 1st. We also have been looking into the issues presented on some of these posts. We have found the issues and will reissue everyone a disc. We apologize for the issues in the discs and as you all know we will work hard to make it right and always have. It was requested that we edit with more high camera in the edits and that we remove the high camera angle on the DVDs. I have a complete list of requested changes that we worked to add and improve on the product. This list included but wasn't limited to: Cheaper Product Single Angle DVD's More High Cam in edits More Honor Guard in edits Audio clarification on 5.1 encodes Bluray product delivery DCA Designed DVD Covers Larger Jib for production And the list goes on ..... I have done what was requested. If you would like to have the high camera version please call me or send me an email. I'm sure everyone here can attest that I have been more than willing to work with everyone. IF you want to know more specifics about the DCA requests please contact me privately as I don't think its great for board material. I'm positive we have put together a great product. The bluray and DVD's are on par with anything that is produced for the juniors and I'm positive you will enjoy them, especially your performance. Tim

I know it was confusing to you guys. After looking at the website, I corrected the errors on the website. We are offering ONLY single angle versions of the DVD's and blurays. This was at the request of DCA after last years product release. If it is something that you guys really want, then let Mike Symonds know for future releases that you really want the high camera included on all the DVD's. Hope that info helps. tim

@FECONTRA I can't click through your link, however, I am assuming that it goes to my shipdates page on the website. If thats the case, yes, we are shipping DCA as we speak. Mini-Corps has already shipped. Alumni and Finals should be shipped by the end of the week and prelims following closely behind. The copyright gauntlet was a bear this year. Hopefully, in the future we can get some faster help by the copyright owners. It gets better every year, but it still has its problems and issues. I will be posting a video shortly with excerpts from the finals DVD to give everyone a chance to see the final video. It turned out great and we are really proud of the product. Tim

Hey Guys, Sorry, I haven't been watching the threads this year, just due to the fact BOX5 is very busy at this time of year and we are growing tremendously right now. In terms of copyrights, we are specifically waiting on synchronization rights we received mechanical rights today (via fedex). It is our hopes to ship CD's within the next day or so and start this ball rolling. We are ready to ship as soon as we get the go ahead from the copyright holders. There are several pieces we are waiting on. I won't be specific about those corps who we are waiting on as to not create issues with those corps. Lets just say, that if we don't get copyright permission there are at least one corps that wouldn't make the DVD at all and several corps that would have their shows severely cut and mangled. I have been assured by the person that handles my copyright procurement that these won't be an issue but we MUST have permission before we ship or they will deny any and all copyright requests. Copyright is different for EVERY corps and song used and we must negotiate with each copyright holder individually. The publisher (where the corps got permission to use the music) doesn't always hold the rights to synchronization (marrying of video to the audio). We do have mechanical (audio on CD) back and will begin shipping CD's. Mechanical is what DCI got for Madison and they couldn't procure synchronization thats why the DVD went black during Empire State of Mind. They weren't marrying video and audio so they could have the audio on the disc like a CD. Synchronization & Mechanical is BOX5's responsibility as we are the company that is making money from the profit. I hope that helps clear up some questions. Heavy, I'm not entirely positive of your question, but I guess I can assume you are talking about honor guard entrances. We have a plan in place to rectify this concern for those corps that present colors prior to a show. Part of our production this year will include announcements, show introductions and honor guards for all groups with them. Those groups that don't have honor guards we will include show opens and introductions. Things we have on tap for this year: We have also added a Class A Prelims & Open Class Prelims option this year. We will be offering a single performance BluRay (High Definition) option for purchase this year. We have lowered all pricing. All show introductions will feature a graphic that has corps name, corps location, score and placement for the respective event on the DVD. Honor guards will be part of the production at the beginning of the production. Larger crane for finals. More streamlined production, we have have several shows under our belt and have attended about 10 shows over the summer taking notes on all the corps to help produce a better product. We felt like we produced a good to great product last year. This year, we are trying to achieve great to astounding. There are many things behind the scenes that are happening to help the production this year, too technical that it will bore you. But keep in mind we are listening and trying to achieve a product that EVERYONE is interested in. As I said last year, this is a passion for me, not just a way to make money. Box 5 is committed to making the absolute best product we can, regardless of profit margins. We are aware of all the issues and we are working to fix all errors the best we can. To give everyone a little insight to the issues. The stuttering (ghosting) problem comes from a fields issue. Basically, its a situation where we have to maintain compatibility with past technology, tube (or CRT) TV's and new technology like LCD and Plasma. If you don't have your settings exactly right then you will get this issue. Some people will perceive the issue worse than others due to personal settings on their equipment. Make no mistake we see the issue also and our QC guy didn't catch that issue. So what does that mean - its means that we will re-encode and transcode the product to try and remove these issues for you guys. It also means that we will get a chance to re-work some edits that we might want back. I do monitor what you guys have said as to what you would like to see and we will try our best to have those moments show up in this next edit. Keep in mind we can't get them all but we will try. We are committed to providing the best possible product on the planet. Hopefully, in this next batch you will see that and we can make a few more of you excited for next years product. Hello All, It was great working for everyone at the DCA World Championships. I think I witnessed some of the most exciting performances of my drum corps during championships and I can't wait to see what the future holds for DCA.
