We're already a chartered program of two non profit organizations, whose protection is enough for DCI's standards, as Sue, coordinator for new and emerging corps, told me it was. KickStarter contributions are not tax deductable, and I have made absolutely no claims. All donors are informed of this on KickStarter's site when they sign up. I don't see what your qualm is. If you had a question, you should have asked. Email and messages work fine, and I've made mine very transparent and viewable, as well as all information on the corps and our progress. Any other drum corps would not let you have such privileged information, especially at our young stage.

Yes, we received a full reimbursement of funds stolen. As far as an investigation into who stole the money, we haven't received any word from the bank on that. Thank you for asking, though!

Hello DCP- We've been raising funds to buy our corps members instruments for the upcoming season. So far, since November, we've reached $1,400 in funds raised. About the board... Our board of directors is an important thing, and we are trying to fill it with knowledgeable "Corps" people as well as some established names in the community. However, it is not the most important thing, and I will admit that I've been perhaps a little lax in recruiting members of the board. Currently, I'm using my staff, many of whom have worn financial and logistical hats before, as the de facto board. I have a list of people that I compiled of people that I want to use in each position. Unfortunately, between both the recession and their time commitments (many of them are big high school & college band directors), most of them have declined an invitation. There was also a question of whether or not the business would succeed, which, of course, will linger with us until our first year is won and done. The moment we hit the parade route or the show turf is our penultimate moment of redemption and success, and this is what I've been telling the kids to focus on. However, unless we reach our $2,000 goal ($600 more), we will be unable to supply our hornline with instruments. Please consider contributing to our cause. Hi, I'm looking for a set of bugles/brass and drums. Willing to pay between $1,000 to $2,000 in cash. A matching set is preferred, but we'll take a mixture of brands as well. Thank you.

Approximately $400. Overdraft & service fees are pushing us further into the red. If the claim goes through, all is erased. If not, then we'll need to ask people to contribute. I really wish I had better news, but we're still waiting on them to, at least, credit our account. They have until Thursday to do that or they'll be in violation of bank regulations and liable for a fine. We have around $100 liquid right now, but without our checking account in green, we don't really feel that safe transferring it back.

I just want everybody to know, I filed paperwork yesterday morning that consisted of an affidavit to figure out who may have stolen the money. Bank claim is still going through on the 14th of January. This is a setback for us. We were hoping to do our first parade in March to raise money, but now we have to regroup. You can help by donating to our kickstarter campaign. Hopefully, the claim will be processed, but claims don't always go through. If you're the religious type, please consider us in your prayers.

We have 20 members who have been to both camps. For december, we pushed the date back and got 10 to show up. Our goal is 30. Plenty of time to get there before May.

We are going to be evaluated, on site, for exhibition, as per DCI's rules regarding exhibition performances. It's basically the same as competitive evaluation, except for lowered expectations for what's in the treasury (we're not pumping out Open or World Class cash flow figures). We're hoping for two shows in DCI this year, although DCI's rules regarding the number of exhibition shows is strict too. Part of the reason why we're focusing on parades this year is to build some war coin for our 2012 regional program. We're also looking to be a part of DCNA, and if it is up and running by this year, we will definitely be there. We should be able to be fully competitive and championships ready by 2015, although problems do arise... Such is the unpredictable nature of building any new business. I can tell you right now, we're planning on building a capital investment program that would pay us out dividends (some blue chip stock, and cont bonds), and then later moving into more aggressive day trading and the penny stock market. All of that is being built into our fund raising program. We'll get there, because I'm not giving it up. Ever. I'm stubborn like that.

Wonderful, ThirdCoast. We had to scale a few things back. For instance, one of our fundraisers was an early public performance of Christmas tunes on the steps of the County Courthouse just 2 blocks from our rehearsal site and set for the 11th. However, due to the amount of time we currently have to rehearsal the two tunes, plus the changing of our rehearsal date due to a late schedule conflict with our hosts, we had to cancel the performance/fundraiser. We'll probably give a little preview in January to the local area, because, honestly, the bucks are in staying local and building an audience there. Our opener is done, and we have our arranger (Leventis) working on the production number by William Byrd. We're trying to see if we can incorporate a little theatrics into the show, and maybe a general underlying plot that is easy to follow. Although we're exhibition, we'll be pushing the envelope and expecting a high level from the members, but in the end, it's up to who shows up and fills the lines as to the content of the show. That being said, seeing as how we no longer are doing the fundraiser on the 11th in West Chester, we need the help of people here more than ever. I've delivered on my promises. Now, we're looking on the Drum Corps Community to support this new and entertaining troupe. Please help by contributing whatever you can. Remember that Christmas is the season of giving!
