  10. The Corps is ready to perform tonight! They have worked very hard for 4 weeks and will finally get a chance to put it out there. What to watch for: An entertaining and GE type Drum Corps show! A powerful brassline (Best in recent years)! Several percussion features. A very active guard. A challenging music and visual show filled with physical demand on the performers! A show that will continue to devlop throughout the season! No hype, just a viewers guide to the 70th anniversary version of the Crusaders!

  17. The Corps will be running ensemble rehearsals including some run thus tonight up until 8pm ish. Tuesday and Wednesday the ensemble block and run thrus will be in the 4-5 pm ish time frame. Not sure if you will see uniforms but they do have a red top/black bottom ensemble unifirm (shirts/shorts) that they use throughout the summer. A few highlights on show development and review: The show design and performance level is up over last year. This is the 3rd year under Jay and the design team. It is also the 3rd year under Tom's leadership with many returning vets in all sections. The corps has been utilizing the stadium for the visual vantage point and ensemble rehearsals. Over the winter the corps increased it's movement program which you will see throughout the show. In addition to the written book for both the guard and the drill, a significant amount of staging and movement has been added over the past few days. Some show highlights: Very cool entrance and opening from the left corner of the field with a great climax after the corps is announced. The second piece is filled with velocity, high tempos and great articulation across the brass line. The middle piece is new to the drum corps activity and is very challenging from a time meter and tempo perspective. The ballad is beautiful and full of lush sounds! The exit is powerful and exciting! All sections are strong and I look froward to people hearing this brass line and enjoying this show!
