On the contrary. I am reading and what I get out of all of this has been eye opening. Perhaps some of you are correct in saying that I will never be a Crown fan. But it was nice to see it from a fan's perspective. But what I hear from all of you is mainly about their brass and me being a visual person (hence the SPINmetosleep) I guess I will just never get it. I thank you all for your time and for those of you who were not quick to jump down a persons throat when they ask questions.

I usually hate pre-season predictions but as a recent age-out I'm bored in the off season 1. BD- because they're the Blue Devils 2. Crown- Unless they make some visual changes they're not going to get that top spot 3. Phantom- Not getting the full recognition they deserve for playing that awesome music 4. SCV- All those bando's will be cheering for the new movie music on the field for the first time (I know it's not the first time) 5. Cadets- Never out of the top 5 6. Boston- Ok, slightly biased but they're making some big visual changes which will hopefully give them a more mature show and boost them up 7. Cavaliers- Nothing against them but I would like to see a slight shake up in the top 6 8. Bluecoats- Last year was the first year that I could say that I liked the Coats show. They just kind of seem forgettable to me. 9. Madison- Happy 75! They'll come out strong as always but won't manage to keep up. 10. Blue Stars- Back in the top 12 this year 11. Crossmen- Keep it comin' Bones 12. Blue Knights- Just don't do it for me but strong enough to be in the top 12

Compelling need? I guess you can call wanting to expand your knowledge and taste a compelling need. Usually Crown threads have so much fighting I can't pick anything constructive out of them. I figured starting a non-confrontational thread might help. My bad.

Why would it be harsh? Why would you bash on someone who is trying to see your point of view?

DISCLAIMER: THIS POST IS NOT TO START A FIGHT (of course that is near impossible of dcp) Ok, so here's the deal...I am NOT a drum corps rookie. I have been around the activity since I was 5. I understand show design and such. But I'm not seeing it in Crown's shows. I want to like Crown and all I hear are amazing things about their shows...but I just don't get it. Someone PLEASE explain what is so fabulous about them, show me videos sound clips anything just help me because all I get from their shows is that they are OK at the max and underwhelming. I must be missing something.

I wouldn't tell all former members to get over themselves. That's a hard thing to go through as a member especially coming off a gold medal in '07.

It sure is a shame to watch such a great corps dwindle like this. It seems as if the new staff and the few members that are left have their work cut out for them. While I don't aggree with the staff changes at all and in my mind I think that this corps that I and many others have loved will never be the same, I think it will be interesting to see what they put out this year.
