  6. Actually, a few months ago I began listing scores and shows on the CGHS (Colorguard Historical Society.org) - it is a huge undertaking and I stopped in the mid 90s and skipped into the last few years as my brain began imploding. I had to jump pages in WGI between their Past Events to the DVD/VHS show name listings in order to get some sense of what was done before as WGI doesn't have a central area for this information. This project does require all past marching members help in filling in the blanks with the goal to make this very Corpsrep including song titles, main instructors and themes. Funny, as this past weekend in Dayton, several people suggested a database setup of guard information and so I am re-inspired to continue what was started several months ago. We do need help from anyone with info about "their" guard - a show name is great but I would love to have music names and main staff - not all staff as I don't have the resources to list Auntie Claris sewing the Flags in 1982. Several months ago, I did inquire with DCI and DCW for anything prior to WGI - and most info has been lost to bad trailer park fires and dusty closets. If you haven't... please come visit and join us at the Colorguard Historical Society: http://www.colorguardhistoricalsociety.org and we also run the Drum Corps Historical Society: http://www.drumcorpshistoricalsociety.org
  7. you can catch the Conquest 84 show on colorguardhistoricalsociety.org the guards (from what I have heard) owned the copyrights before 1986 and i have no idea about the music rights for that time. show consisted of Amityville, "Burn" from Eyes of Laura Mars and "Zero to Sixty" by Pablo Cruise. Great show but nonStop overkill weapon work yet a crowd favorite! a creepy ghoul starts off by chopping an arm off of a member. the ghoul was used for a few years and sort became a strange icon for the guard except in 83 when i marched.
  8. Sebastienne actually sent me a note and had nerve to claim these for himself. He quickly excused himself when I mentioned that Mommy/Mother Drinks.... is actually copyrighted. I gave my own spin on Your Favorite... with blessed permission from Dugg. Enjoy!
  9. LOL ah well... many people love and buy 'em. sorry that you don't like our work. of course, you are always welcome to break out your crayons and send us your version. ; )
  10. Note from the Fahrenheit camp: Mikey is still holding on strong. Actually he looks better than ever. If I could drop a good 60 lbs, I think I would try and do the same thing ( and I am older than he is ). Mike is a real inspiration to us !
  11. Just to clarify on these recent postings... "Mother Drinks Because You Drop" (Mommy works too.....) was officially coined over a year ago by a gentleman who is partnered to an ex-Madison Scout while watching a bunch of us OLD guys play with our rifles here in St. Petersburg, FL (we have a couple of marching retirement groups here - hehe). I created and have been selling this t-shirt on Riflebear.com since we began the company a year ago. Stop on by and get yours today !!!! My band kids and Fahrenheit kids LOVE when I wear this shirt and were mad that I didn't wear mine last WGI as it is a twisted inspiration for them. Glad to see it has taken a life of its own... LOL. I will create the other shirt ASAP "your favorite guard (or Corps) SUCKS" with Dugg's blessings !
  12. this was the first year that i was honestly excited about most of the top 15. phantom did indeed blow me away and remembering the first two spactacus' - this was a wonderful show. the excitement during the last 3 or so weeks when BD started to slip and the top 6 became super competitive. isn't this what we want to see in any type of competition - the fight til the finish - this has been seriously lacking for many years with DCI and even WGI this year was a true battle and i say bravo to all the corps and congrats to Phantom for their own Spartacus battle. i am going to enjoy this year's DVD because I won't be skipping over too m any corps. lol.
  13. Love your statement about newbie experts... lol. regarding your other concern.... Ugly? Colorguard people throwing down the gloves and being mean? Talking trash and nasty? NEVER!!!! (at least not on the CGHS) Patrick and I (tony jenners) are the creators and administrators of the CGHS and have total control over everything posted, commented on and discussed. Arguing and discussion are very welcome BUT if anyone decides to be overly rude, childish, cussing or whatever then the post will be torn down and that person shall be warned first and then BANISHED! from the site. Yeah, sounds pretty mean but you need to be a member in order to post anything anyway - P.and I are not at all worried about this and neither should you. So come and join up sunshine! : )
  14. hi all. just want to say thanks to the great comments that we have rec'd here and on our site at CGHS. Patrick and I are truly having a blast doing this project and are amazed at the responses. We are well over 40,000 visitors in just 3 months of the active site and as the new season descends we are very excited at our future growth. we are living the example of doing what we love and yes, he and I are 'fanatics' about corps and guard since we both marched many years ago with and against each other. 2008 season was the 25th anniversary of competing against each other in Dayton finals. The Colorguard Historical Society is the first of its kind to make an attempt of organizing our sport and creating educational value and allowing voice to those whom agree and/or disagree with where the sport is heading towards. We want to cover all aspects of where colorguard really started which was well before 1977 and provide a place to watch where guard is heading towards. Are we to become danseurs? twirlers? trapeze artists? or maybe <gulp> cheerleaders? Believe it or not these subjects have alway been argued and fought over since a couple of guards in the mid-60s introduced MUSIC and they weren't even from the West Coast! Again, thank you all so much for visiting the site, joining and lending voice to the CGHS. Anthony Jenners the web guy ....lol.
