  1. You can Add Philly Sounds to that list as well, we sent our paperwork in this morning.
  2. We went, it rained for a bit but as they say the show did go on and it was a great show.. my hat is off to all corps that went on the field even with the muddy 40 to 40 zone and put on a great show. To the Bridgemen and to George, Thank you for a great time again and opening the 2009 season with style...
  3. Gold is a great organization for ou to go to and i know they would have you in the Honor guard with pride. my best to you in whereever you go my friend.
  4. IMO, the Honor Guard is one of our most tresured parts of our history in Drum Corps. if DCA is a tried and true organization it will always be held in the highest reguard on the field, myself i feel it should be made back as an intrical part of the drill as well as the Color Presentation. It is truly up to each of us to keep it in the corps and not let it fall away like so many of our many historic icons of drumcorps past. Just my opinion.
  5. 4/2 has been discussed, this is why we are thinking of 10 as minimum. figure 5/5 or 7/3 and so on. figuring in the fact that sounds and people. looking at the size of most units during the winter and the people who do other factors of winter organizations there will be few units who would make 80 total but it would be the Max with 10 as the minimum.
  6. Mike, This is why i love reading posts on here. not only do you not get the point but you also didn't read the facts before you comment. First, this is an alternative for existing corps to have something to do in the so called off season as well as a possible recruitment tool during the prosess. the organizations that have shown an interest are established corps as well as Sartup corps looking to have another opening for performing. As i said in earlyer posts that there is so much more to this new organization and maybe it is to just ask questions to find the answers
  7. The M&M aspect is not as much a factor as you might think, although it would be included in the judging factor one would have to figure in the thought of a group who will just do a park and play show. this has been thought of and is being included in the judging. As for too many performers? i have heard from so many different aspects on this, it is possble to have 30 to 40 horns on a floor and not blow peoples ears out, it is called "Musicianship" if the music is staged for an indoor format it will perform well indoors just as most corps have adjusted the outdoor show to perform well in a stadium. The most i can say is to check out the website or just contact us directly for more information, we are currently makeing arrangments to hold a general meeting to start this season this fall and offer to any corps or marching organization to become a part of the ADCEast.
  8. Just so there is no misunderstanding on this. We are not looking for a connection with DCA or DCI, we do hope to have the blessings of both and wish to have a mutual cooperation with both as well but this organization will be it's own and the organizations who will be members of such will be the body of law that governs it. No one person or organization will hold ownership of ADCE but it will hold it's own board meetings and be considered a collective of Drum Corps and Marching units who wish to be able to perform and recruit to help the Drum Corps prosess grow. About size: if you think big it won't work, we are setting the size at 80 max but we will allow as little as 10 performers on the floor. this way all if not any organization can participate in it and still feel like a member of it. this is just a sample of what it could be, for more information feel free to contact me or visit the website at www. arenadrumcorpseast.org. I know there are many questions out there that need to be answered and i will be happy to answer any if not all of them as time allows.
  9. In reply to some of the questions allow me to clarify. 80 members would be in such as 40 horns max 25 percussion and so forth. Our season would be started in December and run till March. right now we are looking into 2 east coast circuits one being northeast and the other being southeast. please feel free to check out the website or contact through our Email for much more information as to how this would be a benifit to ALL of the corps and how it would be a help to each of us.
  10. Today marks a new Day in Drum Corps, Arena Drum Corps will be starting this fall on the East Coast and has been received to so far a few Organizations who hold an interest in being a part of this new Circuit. The New Website is now online and hold the preliminary information as to the cause of this organization. to all who hold an interest in this new performance organization are welcome to contact us for more information. we are currently setting up a meeting date for all units who wish to participate. Smaller Groups and large crowds will see thhis as a new format for us all to perform as well as the benifits it would hold for recruitment during a corps down time. For information go to WWW.ArenaDrumCorpsEast.org or Email to ADCEast@Gmail.com Note: this will be a judged format and will be set in it's own rankings apart from any if not all of the other branches of Drum Corps.
