  1. I disagree, Colts are not getting respect for a visually pleasing show. There is some "sentimental" issue happening for the Troopers. If nothing else the DM slowing down the rest of the DM for retreat should be worth a point deduction!
  2. Saw Colts in Kansas, this corp had a definite crowd response to guard when "sail and water flags" floated the length and width of field. This show has a crowd pleasing element that Trooper did not have last night. Also, Troopers had a huge decrease in energy toward the end of their show. A music teacher behind me even stated the same thing regarding the drop off in intensity with the conclusion of Troopers closer. This is the year that Colts should make finals!
  3. I totally agree, PR show was violent and very degrading to women. Hated it.
  4. Is there a way to get a full screen view on computer or through tv
  5. If you could post I would appreciate it. Thanks, Proud Mom
  6. The Colts drum major is my son, follow him on twitter @agiddings Proud Mom, Go Red Team
  7. Colts will be back in the top 12 based on early rumors of next year show - PR knows what I mean
  8. Too much - Phantom, come on - how many murders do you really need in one show! Perhaps a show of historical nature, but I certainly enjoy a happy show such as Crown or Colts over the violence that dominates Phantom Too little - Obviously from above comment - Colts have been a corp that has a musically beautiful show, with wonderful guard, and has consistently never been a blip on the radar from the judges this year. It seems that for whatever the reason they were judged early as not having a competitive show and despite changes, hard work and outstanding crowd ovations, always are falling on the short end of the judges evaluations. Crown also has that crowd pleasing musical show, that the judges have inconsistently scored.
  9. I don't think it will make any difference what scores are used for any of the corps. Based on numerous competitions that I have had the opportunity to view, it seems that early on the judges had determined the corps that will perform on Saturday in August. Reviewing the scores tabulated by the individual judges clearly indicate the corps -that regardless of how well they perform-receive favorable placement by that judge. It is sad that the "lower" corps, most that have crowd pleasing shows are not rewarded for their entertainment value they provide for the crowd. I agree with a previous posting that since the number of corps have declined, let everyone perform! The financial impact of this season will most likely cause several corps to fold after this season. Why would a corp that can clearly see they are never going to receive favorable scores to make a Saturday performance want to return next year.
  10. My daughter was a "rook-out" with Southwind last year. Even though they were not a top corp she enjoyed the corp experience and would have returned this year had she been eligible. She had been involved with guard starting in 7th grade, through high school and college. She was thrilled to be able to "age out" in the Rose Bowl in California. It's sad that Southwind was not able to put a corp on the road this summer. I'm afraid that this may be the future of several corps in the future with the price of fuel and food.
  11. Sending out love to the Colts -"Bless Their Hearts"! Seriously, they have a wonderful crowd pleasing show without slashing a female throat or beating each other with boxing gloves. I understand the historical nature of the violence in the corps performing those shows, but from a pleasure seeking fan of drum corp, I find the Colts and Crown shows to leave me feeling happy instead of tense and sad watching the violence represented. Everyday all you have to do is watch the evening news to find out the number of murders, altercations and dead bodies discovered to be reminded that the human race can be evil - I don't need that to be reenacted. I want to see a fun, colorful, and up-lifting musical performance that leaves me feeling good. Just my opinion - the judges seem to like the Crown, maybe they will find the love for the Colts.
