  1. yah I'm a drumline guy too...watch Kingston this year!!!! Enjoy!!
  2. I would look out for Grenadiers this year in the A Class.....I always loved Sky as well..as a young Canuck they blew me away at Aquinas stadium...and at the Scranton show in the 70"s......Also the Crusaders had a lasting impession on me in the early years..who played St.James town Infirmary??? Oh hell I am old and senile....but my god the corps from the 70"s wow wow and wow!!! again I am going golfing with the Bruins!!!
  3. Right...Wrong?? whatever.......but as a Smith..you should know...it is not Smith Falls...but Smiths Falls..just a historical fact!! HAHAHAHA ...see you next home camp Doug!!!
  4. I think Grennies are in Massachusetts July 24/2010 but I could be wrong. Looks like they are slated for a good old Smiths' Falls parade on July 17'th hey?? but things could change...Enjoy.....Like the Boston Bruins...I'm going golfing!!!!
  5. My condolences as well. Fulton Gauchos, obviously like most corps...were as close as a family could be...Thanks to people like Frances who were part of this great experience..and can I say must have been a great influence on those names you mention Tom...because as a young guy from Kingston in the 60"s early 70"s ..I experienced the goodwill and manners of the likes of T. Bullard, Dennis Morrell..and all the great ideas they shared with me, again they had great people in their organization like "Chubby".....I am sure she lived a wonderful life and her family and drum corps family mourn her loss yet are better for having been able to share with her their lives as well..RIP....sincerely
  6. Congrats Grenadiers on first, being active in DCA this year, second, being again so imaginative and innovative in your theme (whatever.. your show concept...I guess I mean the Stormgasm) Mr Dean and company have again raised the bar for "Class A" eh? The fans in Lawrence MA will again be thrilled by the little corps from Canada, as well I am sure you will represent Kingston, Ontario as a little Mecca of drum corps.........many, many have past through these gates, and always left the better for their experience here. And have passed on to others the way drum corps should be.....Good luck my friends..walk proud and enjoy...you have the staff and the members and the will to compete aggressively, yet ......know at the end of the day that Canada belongs in DCA and Grenadiers are a an example of the drum corps spirit and determination to survive these times...good luck to all DCA..but to my corps..I wish you well and just have fun eh??
  7. Would not blame anyone for your reaction, your opinion as mine counts in a Democratic society. I find many comments on this site very, uncool as you say, and quite a lot worse than anything I would ever post. Anyway I have edited the post and apologize to anyone who may have taken offence, especially from the WS org as it was not meant in any way to detract from their fine organization.
  8. edited by me with apology if one found it offensive!!
  9. saying that is so true! Your Corps will be ready for RACHACHA on the July 3...fans sometimes take grennies for granted..but your corps always..always .entertains and .......somehow ..how do I say this? seems to always be the icing on the cake!!! Good Luck Grenadiers..always entertaining and never a disappointment...small but mighty!!! EH?
  10. Edited due to lack of humour (humor) but GOLD .........is...GOLD!!!
  11. 1'st time I heard ensemble this year..what a great book.......They were still givin er when I left...what an amazing sound!!! With a Tim Horton's on every street no need to let out early......although the brown stuff store closes at 5 on Sunday......jeez worse than PA. Archaic eh?
  12. Actually ..it (curling) has been a nice change from the women's snowboarding....fall on my face.....yet CANADA WINS...hahhaha....Congrat's on the men's Speed Skating tonight.....See yah on the rink ..Hockey for me and I guess Ream....Good Luck to All.. We are trying to be good Hosts...

  14. Now that's funny....I don't care who says otherwise!!!!
  15. Grenadiers head south of the border really caught my attention. Thought DLD had won the lottery and we were camping in "Vegas" Alas... Alex Bay is well??..quiet in February.....Guess Grennies will liven things up during A-bay's off season. Have a great camp...now when is the camp in Vegas???
  16. Nice Vid Shack!!! I can't even comprehend why anyone would not want to be part of such a great bunch as the "Grennies"...the video says it all......Class "A" as in Class Act....It is really looking good from what I hear....I only wish me hips were okay...cause I know I could get me rudimental wrists a goin Happy New Year Grenadiers
  17. hey you had a great time right? Bobby Orr has some clout eh? Happy New Year St. Kevins...Oh the green!!!
  18. . btw I own 5 jerseys, one of them is black and gold with a big B in the middle. I'll be heading back to my TV now ;-) I remember back in the 70's waiting for the CFL half time shows..you know Toronto Optimists or Del..and of course being disappointed as they showed a bout 30 seconds and then switched to the commentators.....jeez...so it does not surprise me that we did not see coverage today...however it was quite an event anyway....and of course I was somewhat pleased with the final score...Sorry Jeff..maybe next time!!! It was a great day seeing Orr and Clarkie..and even Cherry wasn't that annoying!
  19. Went to Sears Canada today eh? Got a great deal on boxes...... oot and aboot!! Happy Festivis!!! Rain..no snow..lottsa beer!!!
  20. Great things happening for sure Scott...I heard the percussion arranger has a minimum of 4.5 minutes of cool beats waiting for the corps....folks better get out to this camp...have a great camp Grenadiers....and Happy Holidays...
  21. doesn't matter what kind of mouthpiece you use....as you say up here in the frozen tundra.....in my years of Santa Claus parades..from Ottawa..to Kingston...to Belleville , points north etc..bottom line......Drum-line carried most parades..the wimpy bugles always froze up...or so they said!!! Probably why Arthur Itez and I get along so well.....of course us oldtimer drummers never wore any kind of gloves etc... still great memories.....did winter parades from 1967 to 1997.....made a lot of people happy.... Drambuie helped of course!!!
  22. Go Boston..both drum corps and hockey??? Heaven I'm in Heaven....looking forward to seeing this!!!!
