  1. hey as an old drummer (not percussionist) I always spelled roll...ROLL... But as a real old fan of The Wizard of Oz I think the good witch was Glinda...anyway ..should be some spectacular, fun show!!!
  2. This post deleted by me ..I apologize and claim temporary insanity.
  3. ......Meh....(apologies to taters,, I had to use it once...now I'm done!!)
  4. As a 55 year old...old phart..I really need to know what "meh" means....is it like hohum or who cares or indifference about a subject?? I',m thinkin I might be on the right track but?? Love your new pic /avatar whatever!! Enjoy..and Adam is just a freakin grump...like me only younger......we suffer from foot -in mouth disease from time to time.. I'm harmless he is young....have a great day "EH" "MEH"
  5. Good Idea..better than re-hashing The War of 1812. And as far as only Hats for Empire......well it would give a whole new meaning when David B. called the corps to attention. Although always innovative and unique with props etc...hmmmmm..just not ready for that..just my personal taste heh heh heh!! Way back when....when I was 15 ,16...I envisioned "Chatelaines" wearing only hats.but that's another story!!!
  6. Happy Thanksgiving to Canadian members near and far!! We certainly have much to be thankful for. I send all my heartfelt thanks to our Soldiers in Afghanistan for your truly heroic acts....of kindness.....I support our Canadian troops, many whom have been drum corps people.etc..to you in the Canadian Forces.I salute you and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving...Safe tour of duty and come home soon!!! And to all the other Canadian friends .....have a nice Turkey Day!! and don't ever quit dancing!!
  7. Then don't read this thread or contribute..again I guess we won't see another post on this thread from you..because it is worthless!!! so there you go!!!
  8. This thread is a total waste of time as opposed to some other threads??.I guess if it is a waste of time then I won't see another post from you?? I understand what you are saying ..but people enjoy the wishful thinking thing....so relax...Good Lord we have enough misery in the world..can't let someone dream???
  9. Yes Tom, for many years here in k-town we have enjoyed the appearance of the U.S.M.C. Drum and Bugle Corps as they made their every other year visit to Fort Henry...to compete with Fort Henry Guard. An awesome display of military discipline watching the silent drill team of the Marines on the parade square at Fort Henry. Of course as an added bonus for the people of Kingston..Truman Crawford would hold a concert in the park across from our city hall and entertain the heck out of us all. As a drum corps guy it was awesome to have the guy from yankee rebels and others in our local park...and man .....the talent..wow!!! And they had absolutley no hassle at the border!!!!
  10. Actually I know you are a fan...I was grumpy that night...but has anyone considered the fact that the US dollar versus the loonie could be an incentive to at least hold a Regional North in Canada..ie:Montreal, Ottawa. Toronto, ??? I am not really educated enough to understand the logistics etc..of hosting or running a show..but this I know.....many drum corps fans in our area...perhaps not enough to showcase ..but ...never underestimate your Northern neighbours... (do you like the spelling already lol)....and as for long bus rides...when we first joined Red Carpet we did mostly shows in PA. ..ususally 8 hours in those days ...but also did a Rhode Island show..Corso's and it was a long ride.then we left and went back to Toronto to do concert's at ontario place on the sunday..as you well know..to make the $$$ to pay the bus bills...but we were young then...but hey it was drum corps..48 hours from friday til monday and back to work.....so I guess don't tell me that it can't be done and DCA can be held anywhere if the will is there..and yes I agree..financially..can't jeopardize your organization...becoming inactive just to please me or anyone else....it is what it is....and Rochester for now ..rules!!!
  11. Thanks for not including Grenadiers in the big NE show..... doesn't matter anyway I am sure Grenadiers will be busy at the Great White North Regional..funny how the eagles and others consider Canada so far away.....Empire , Crusaders ,and Brigs among others have been here and competed..yet certain people think that no way..probably just as far to Rochester for some South corps as Montreal.....just sayin... I post for myself and represent no corps.....again just sayin just so yous know
  12. So?? How did it go. The debriefing meeting in Scranton. Everyone get their cheques? Congratulations ladies and gentlemen on a most successful season of Drum corps. High fives all around you deserve it!!

  14. why Sarnia Sam if you are from Orillia...ever done the lake cuchiching thing...spelled incorrectly of course.......Gawd i miss those days...and we are talking 1963
  15. sorry I mean no harm but it is Yellowknife, N.W.T.
  16. what? you didn't think it was clear with me??? JEEZ USE SPELL CHECK WILL YAH!! love you man!
  17. And not to flog a dead horse here..but all this drum major banter is just old friends and snare players joking with each other....I hope anyway!! HAH HAH HAH!! We all marched together.... I guess were doing some insider jokes!!
  18. hey I can't speak for the corps...guess Randy Billings or Don Dean could perhaps expand...I do know this...that indeed many good people helped Grenadiers do their best this season..and especially during the final push. And I got this from the horse's mouth...my son who marches in "Grennies" as he shared with me just last Sunday....a lot of great help dad.......DA was able to pull some great stuff out of the Brass line and Billy McGrath....awesome as well..and Mr McGrath always a great help...what more to be said.....a great experience for all.... don't read too much into anything here ..I am certainly confident that the intent is for the welfare of the corps and extremely honourable....anyway......as a proud alumnis of grenadiers ..I personally thank the many people, including all Staff, Instructors, volunteers and marching members who made this a most successful and rewarding year for all of us!!! and a big
  19. I would guess you are reading it wrong??? hey I hope you are reading it wrong !!!maybe no committments from anyone as yet in regards to returning....I didn't hear any words about firings...perhaps contracts ended and are up for renewal..hey who knows?? How do you know that anyone in these positions has expressed a desire to return..don't go turning this into a oh didn't win Class A so everyone is fired ...come on!!!!! Not Grenadiers way of doing business I am certain!!!!!!!! Have a nice day eh!!!
