  1. I wonder if this guy was considered when Quentin Tarantino "Cast Aldo" Raines for Inglorious Basterds.
  2. Pretty sure I recognize this guy. Not in for long but initials B.B. ??
  3. Ray, very profound as usual. I have been away from the activity for a very long time now but always seem to follow the season, and most importantly, the successes (or lack thereof) of my alma mater (very proud to see them back, by the way). I seriously doubt the crowning of a Midwestern Champion will have any negative effect on the DCA and agree wholeheartedly with Tom that the economy and the same things that have us in this mess have taken their toll on drum corps. The additions of DCA members from all over the country, allowing real competitive regional competition throughout the season with a final championship at the end makes it a very viable entity. MBI's championship ended a six year (or so) dynasty that was NOT good for the DCA in my opinion(no disrespect to the amazing accomplishment of the Buccaneers). I see this as a milestone of a stronger DCA in the future. Pete
  4. This guys brother passed away long ago at a way too young age.
  5. The guy on the left taught the Bronx (NY) Kingsmen in 67-68 when I was there.
  6. I think you may have one of the corps right, but off by about 10 years.
  7. Fran , I'm sad I never got the opportunity to meet your wife and I'm sincerely sorry for your loss. Hang in there. Pete
  8. The gates were cinched with a chain and you could only squeeze through by opening as far as it would go. A bunch of us squeezed through , with Pepe going last, struggling for about 2 minutes and finally squeezing through. All out of breath , he sees Bobby Hoffman walking toward the same gate and says.. " go around Bobby, you'll never make it".
  9. Pepe was one of the funniest guys I ever met and I miss him dearly.
  10. Going back a few posts, we had Joe Ferrara from the NY Kingsmen. He and his crew came from St. Clement Pope in South Ozone Park, Queens who were taught by #1.
  11. I cant think of anyone I've seen here that would!
  12. OK , like I said, nobody knows this guy: Brad Blair
  13. Yes, One season in Sun . I know he was with the same corps as some recent postings prior, but what happened after 69 is news to me. Are you telling me he was back in Sun in 96-97?
  14. This guy marched for one season, 1969. Initials BB. I haven't heard a word about him since then. Somehow Garfield rings a note but not sure.
