  1. in 1967, I bought him a bottle of Old Grand Dad 100 for his birthday. I believe he was 19. I marched next to him.
  2. I'd guess after a performance from the pit sweat stains.
  3. #4 was a Babylon Islander and also taught St Ignatius with John Oddo.
  4. Please send Jack my best wishes for a speedy recovery. He probably will not remember me but I marched in the 1966-67 NY Kingsmen (Bronx) while Jack was the drum instructor.

  6. Carl taught St.Mary's Blue Angels color guard, Woodside, Queens , where Johnny Guarino and Jack Meehan taught the horns. If I recall, it was 65-66? Jack took a few of us to watch them all practice with Sky at Randalls Island where we first saw the New York (Bronx) Kingsmen rehearse before Sky. That started the exodus from St. Marys to the Kingsmen later that year .(7 or 8 of us went) .
  7. and the guy on the right taught color guard in 1965-1966 in Queens. I was there.
  8. something in my memory seems to tell me thet these two may have come from the same North Jersey Junior Corps a very long time ago. One reached his popularity in NJ while the other went across the river to make his name.
  9. I don't believe the photo is OLC, but on a side note, OLC was the corps that spawned David Rice (Drum corps photographer) and Joanne Czernawski (sp?) who marched NY Kingsmen and Sunrisers with me , then went on to march in Blue Rock and Garfield and was John Fisher's (Hurcs) first wife.
