  3. Last year DCA South started out with 3 competing corps: CV, Gold, and Heat Wave. I'm not sure if GCS was among the competitors, but they were there.
  4. nope. For once, you could attend separate events on separate nights, and weren't prevented from taking part in I&E (which it was rumored many couldn't in the past) due to rehearsals. That was some of the best fun.
  5. I pretty much agree with your observations throughout. However, look for Madison's Ballzy soud to diminish soewhat with the advent of smaller horns. The sonorities and cleanliness will certainly improve, but the power of the sound will diminish. A funny story: I had my laptop and was working when i was first listen/watching through the DVD set. When Madison came on, I had to look up. The sound was so starkly different than everything else I heard...brighter, much more powerful. I looked closer and started using still frames and such to see what they were playing. I was told they went Bb this year, but my ears were *NOT* hearing a Bb line. sure enough, I cought sight of a beauty of a soprano. Apparently my informant was wrong. I don't care if they play washtubs and kazoos, frankly. It's madison, and they will always be the corps tat first turned me onto the activity.
  6. :feednotroll: As far as marching arts videos go, these are top notch. I have continually appreciated the fact that Tom and his crew know enough about what we do to have cameras in the right place at the right time. I've asked BVP (who does DCA) to look at Tom's work. There's no reason they couldn't make a similar product for our championships. Tom is the standard against which everyone else judges themselves. The experience with our activity is the difference. It's obvious he knows what he's doing when it comes to drum corps. I'm not so sure about the "other" people though. Keep up the great work, Tom.
  7. This very conversation is going on in the Sr. forum. I think it'll be quite a long time 'fore the Sr.'s leave G too.
