  1. Gulf Coast Sound Drum and Bugle Corps from Houston Texas has announced that it will not be attending DCA Class A prelims for the 2011 season. GCS is remaining active in local and regional shows and may participate in the Minicorps Championships on Friday night of Championship. More information will follow.
  2. I knew that. Just busting bawls. We're obviously not on the field yet, but we are gaining momentum every camp. With our new staff, our horn line is far superior to any product previously produced. So yeah, we're excited.
  3. Sayre, We have been seen. We did gigs every other weekend through the fall and had rehearsals on the other weekends. Now that we're in the prep stages for the season, it feels like we have time off. Things with Gulf Coast sound are on track and I have every confidence that we are back in competition in 2011. Our drum line will be joining us after a very successful run at WGI. Our numbers are going daily as word spreads about "dues free" drum corps. The rehearsal facility that we are in is the best I have rehearsed in in all of my years in drum corps and our staff is fantastic. So, don't worry, you will get an opportunity to see our show "Reencarnacion" soon at a theater near you.
  4. Gulf Coast Sound will be rehearsing on April 2nd at 1000 am at the Lone Star College North Harris campus. rehearsal will run until 6:00 pm. Come check out the new rehearsal facility, play the music and find out what Dues Free Drum Corps is all about.
  5. We are planning on going to Rochester this year. Missed last year and don't plan on missing another one. Watching the updates from Kevin on DCP was fun, but..............
  6. Gulf Coast Sound - Reincarnation Reencarnacion - Thalia Running of the Bulls - George Shutak Johnny's Mambo - Michael Lloyd
  7. We have been having a great winter of rehearsals and performances. We are playing a Latin show thet is Muy Caliente. 2 of the tunes have never been on the field and the other hasn't been on the field since 2000. lot of fresh, fun music. Feel free (new meaning) to come check us out. Details at www.gulfcoastsound.org.
  8. You can add Gulf Coast Sound to the Class A list. We're Back!!!!!!
  9. The American Legion gig went great. It's always nice to play for veterans on any occasion, but this was very special. What a fantastic group. We even got free steak dinners after the gig so throw free food on top and it was practically a perfect day. Also giving a little bumpage to the info on Open House. Don't forget. come see what we're up to and get a free lunch. Looking forward to seeing a bunch of you next weekend inAnnapolis.
  10. Might as well start talking about it. I'm going to keep bumping it until it happens
  11. Got a lot of really good things happening. We have been rehearsing or playing gigs every weekend since the middle of September. We've decided to take a very active approach this year and see how it works. We have 5 gigs scheduled between now and the middle of March along with camps. So grab your equipment and track shoes and come join us.
  12. Greetings! Our winter season will be kicked off by our Winter Open House rescheduled for Saturday, December 11, from 2 pm until 5 pm. Drop by our rehearsal facilities at the Lone Star College – North Harris campus (http://www.gulfcoastsound.org/maps.html) that day for lunch on us and to get all the information you need to get started as a member of the only competitive all-ages drum and bugle corps in Southeast Texas. We think you’ll be pleased with our affordable dues structure, our weekends-only camp and touring schedules, and the relaxed but focused atmosphere that we offer. We’ll also announce details of the show concept and music that we have chosen for our 2011 field production, a radical change from past years. So, come on out to meet our members and staff, and hear more about what we have planned for 2011. For more information, contact us at info@gulfcoastsound.org.
