  1. DanjrusMcRynky, there is a history of female instructors at Madison. Just this summer we had a female Caption Head and flag tech in the colorguard, as well as a female Cymbal tech.
  2. More exciting news!!! Next year is going to be a great year for Madison, I believe!!
  3. I would like to politely point out, since I know there is some legitimate confusion on the subject, that Madison's uniforms were in no way created to resemble "Nacho Libre" or any type of mexican wrestling figure. They were strictly designed for a super hero look. I can see how this came across otherwise considering the latin "mood" of the show, but either way, they were not Mexican wrestlers. Just thought I'd clarify :P =)
  4. Whoever it was, I REALLY enjoyed their show And I felt the same way about finals
  5. Well I competed in A Class at Trumbull, and we did make Finals (Impact Independent). Unfortunately, I didn't get to see any others in my class, but I saw a few Open and most of the World class guards. (By the way, congratulations to everybody in all classes this weekend ) My thoughts, I absolutely loved Alter Ego's show. I could hardly stay in my seat. Cheshire and Mechanisburg, two very cool shows with neat concepts. I was kind of curious to see Cheshire after hearing they were doing a part two, but I loved them as well!! We rode up with Croatan World, and I personally really enjoyed their show as well. Who did the Oceana(sp) show? I really liked that one too. The concept was great and the staging was REALLY well done. Overall, a lot of amazing talent at this regional, and I am very excited to see a few of these groups again in New Jersey, and even Dayton!! Good job everybody, and good luck!!
  6. Any reviews on the Raleigh Regional? I was a performer in IA, so I didn't really get to see many of the other guards.
  7. For the way I was taught, flourishes were done from the neck for both sides, you just flip the gun around when you switch sides :) The only way I know to strengthen(sp?) wrists is by practicing flourishes, working on spins, and stretching them!!
  8. In my experiences, I've always gone barefoot in a guard show, which is totally fine with me. I like that or doing what my director did with our other guard my first year. The advanced guard at my school wore what he called Dance boots? theyre pretty much leather socks I guess, but different.
  9. Looking forward to seeing everybody's shows this year
