  1. Ok, the peanut gallery has spoken and claim to enjoy the close-ups. Fair enough, albeit a bit off topic, but I opened that can of worms. (I would too if they were smartly edited and not chosen on the fly - watching snares put their sticks away, or guard members transition to sidelines for new equipment or horn players emptying their spit valves immortalized forever on DVD because of seemingly random director choices not only bores me not to tears but pushes me to the brink of insanity! ) Anyone remember the 2001 DVDs? The had 3-4 Camera Angles per corps track? - meaning you could switch camera angles with your remote while sitting on your couch at home and DURING PLAYBACK. Talk about armchair directing! The was 2001. 8 years ago. Bueller? And if watching ants are not your cup of tea, keep in mind that an HD option would allow to pick out faces (and perhaps even pantylines) at full 1080i/p widescreen vantage?. :-) ok. ok. j/k. sorta. My suggestions are also tuned to address cost - which also seems to be a major detractor for most of us... I could care less if it was delivered in a brown paper bag with crayola crayon graphics - just give me a satisfactory product for the $$$! * stepping off unpolished wooden soapbox before I'm forced to censure myself *
  2. Since no market research has been done here (to my knowledge) on why we need multi-cam views (of mostly poorly timed, undirected cut-aways) I would wager that if we were polled, most would favor a high cam view exclusively. Perhaps I'm wrong here, but if not it would dramatically cut down on cost. Simplifying the product offerings to DVD/Corps, HDDVD/Corps, DVDVolumes, would further reduce costs. Just sayin'... Someday we'll be sorry we didn't capture our memories in HD when we had the chance.
  3. Aye Fran. Aye Jim. déjà vu all over again... <$1 to Yogi>
  4. legitimate question. -no strike that- Excellent question. ...perhaps just a wide-format high-cam version on Blu-Ray? (read: minimal editing required)
  5. Due to the recent economic projections, I've been forced to reduce my volunteer time by 1.5 basis points to meet with analyst expectations.
  6. The reality of Spring is starting to take hold! Come and enjoy a fantastic Spring evening!
  7. * Scenario: After the Spring Preview performances... * Fan: Well, Mom, how did you like your Mother's Day present. Mom: Huh? Fan: I said, "How did you like your Mother's Day present?" Mom: What? *cups hand up to ear* Fan: I SAID, "HOW DID YOU LIKE YOUR MOTHER"S DAY PRESENT!" Mom: Oh, about 9 o'clock. Fan: *smiles*
  8. Most certainly. For those who will only see the "performance product" of the Drum Major role will witness only a small fraction of the greatness of the mantle that is being carried forth. Like an iceberg at sea, only ~10% is actually "above the surface" - the majority of the body (of work) remains out of plain sight.
  9. Thank you Josh for your many fine years of unparalleled conducting, service and leadership! Classical conducting with a flair like no other!
  10. Don't forget it's READING High School this weekend! The Castle on the Hill and a historic spot of Buccaneerdom!
  11. *Echoing Allen's comments completely* Great video! – I’ve watched it many times-over! Cat - Thank you for your time and effort in creating it – and more importantly for sharing it with us all! Of course, you must realize you are "on-the-hook" for creating more!
  12. It will be here before you know it! The excitement of early-season shows is palpable!

  14. Wow - it seems like only yesterday when the First Annual Spring Preview was held!
  15. When I saw the "7" I thought, "Hey! An Elway Tribute Corps!"
  16. When my sandwich gets wet because somebody stacked the coolers "unwisely."
  17. Corps that start with the letter "B" - now there's a head-scratcher!
  18. Fortunately we're not in this poll. whew. Christine, you do have waaayy too much time on your hands today... but, it is Friday... :-) All days should be like Fridays. So, in the interest of Fridays... I'd like to point out the correct contraction for Bucs, is well, "B u c s" The point is, after all, to make things shorter... so why the extra "c" in "Buccs?" Just think of all the repetitive stress you'll save yourself in the process. that's all for now... back to your regularly scheduled YouTube-at-work session.
